About a year ago, I had some pictures of when these construction was started.
This was a center point of gridlock along the federal university road in Ilorin Kwara state Nigeria.

It was never fair when students and lectures arrive late for classes just because there was persistent gridlock here.
On my way to school most times a journey of 10mins is sometimes prolonged to an hour and and more, with that I struggle to leave the house early in order to makeup for the extra needed time wasted inside cabs.
A major disappointment occurred when I missed a morning test at school because of this same purpose, which resulted in a poor grade in that course.

It gladdens my heart as I take a walk around the construction site just yesterday and the level of development showing how the bridge is almost completed.

Alot of money has been spent here. Considering the length of the bridge, the number of workers employed and the corresponding wages they have received....

We had different contractors working on different aspect of the bridge until it became this one whole piece.
Am not sure how long it takes to build a standard bridge but it is often the best decision if more funds is used to employ large number of working hands to speed up the work process.

This kind of development aren't an everyday thing around here and if we have a singular opportunity to find something that will make life easy for communist, it is usually welcome with so much joy

Going round you can see the walls and height of the bridge

Here is the center stage with a decorative iron pillars
All the other machines used have been moved to a place of rest as I passed by during the closing hour of the day
But you can still see that huge truck on sight still parked.

The discomfort of building a bridge at the center of a busy town was quite enormous as a good number of the populace have their homes very close to the road, these homes, groceries, shoes and buildings were all pulled down to create the needed space for this project.

It caused a drastic financial setback for some as the compensation giving can never makeup for the loss.
But I did learnt a lesson to never buy a home or estate close to a busy road.

The electric lines were also removed and this whole location has been without power supply throughout the duration of this project.

This is tanke area in Ilorin where I had a walk around the new bride at the construction site.

Thank you for reading through.
