Hello hive community how are you guys?😊
I will take you cycling towards Stol Mountain.
Breginjski) Stol is a narrow and stretched mountain with a peak at 1,673 meters and is located in the Breginjski corner on the border between the Julian Alps and the Pre-Alpine world. This is the highest elevation in the eastern part of the Stol ridge. It is the longest ridge in the Julian Alps, stretching almost 34 km far from Kobarid to Humino (Gemona) in Italy. The Nadiža River, which originates at the foot of Breški Jalovec, right next to the border with Italy, initially flows to the east, but at the village of Kred it turns sharply to the south. The southern slopes of Stol are bare, steep and grassy, here and there also rocky. On the northern side, a low forest grows almost to the summit ridge. The entire Stol ridge is extremely scenic, in good weather you can see Friuli, Veneto, the Gulf of Trieste, the Carnian Alps, the Dolomites, and the Julian Alps.
Since we also like cycling, we decided to go to Stol. We took water and an energy bar with us.
It took us a good 3 hours to reach the top. I have to admit that the climb was quite tiring but interesting at the same time. We had sunny and cloudy weather on the way. I wanted to turn around a few times because the sky was getting grayer and grayer. We persevered and reached the top.
At the crossroads, we were watched by goats that were happily grazing for the few days that remain in the mountains. We poured water in a nearby mountain hut and admired how the fog and the sun were having fun.
After a few minutes of rest, due to the unpredictable weather, we started to slowly descend from the mountain.
Fortunately, it wasn't raining yet when we drove along the dirt road towards the parking lot. We will definitely visit this mountain again. Maybe next time in better weather conditions.😅
Thank you for reading💚
See you in the next post
