It's a pleasure again to be with my friends from the #WednesdayWalk community sponsored by @tattoodjay in conjunction with @elizacheng and her #MakemeSmile challenge. For this post, once again, I went for a walk around downtown Kent, Ohio. There I took photos of the city's most iconic historic landmarks, second only to Kent State University. They are the Stone Arch Bridge and the Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal (P&O). Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal (P & O. Canal) with its dam and lock.In the same way, I will show you some old pictures of these historical places.

Es un placer de nuevo estar con mis amigos de la comunidad #WednesdayWalk patrocinada por @tattoodjay en conjunto con @elizacheng y su reto #MakemeSmile. Para este post, una vez más, salí a pasear por el centro de Kent, Ohio. Allí tomé fotos de los lugares históricos más emblemáticos de la ciudad, después de la Universidad Estatal de Kent. Se tratan del Puente en arco de piedra y el CanalPennsylvania y Ohio (P & O. Canal) con su presa y esclusa.Del mismo modo, les muestro unas foto históricas de estos lugares.
The city of Kent, Ohio owns its origins to the Cuyahoga River that runs through it. It was the river that attracted the first settlements and allowed the establishment of the first local businesses (A grist mill in 1805) and the development of projects such as the Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal (P & O. Canal).
La ciudad de Kent, Ohio, debe su fundación al río Cuyahoga que atraviesa estas tierras. Fue el río el que atrajo los primeros asentamientos y permitió el establecimiento de los primeros negocios locales (un molino de molienda en 1805) y el desarrollo de proyectos como el Canal de Pennsylvania y Ohio (P & O. The first place I want to show you is the iconic stone arch bridge located on Main Street, Kent. This bridge was built between July of 1876 and September of 1877 to replace the old two lane covered bridge that connected the two ends of the city.

Secondly, the photographs I am presenting to you now belong to the Kent Dam, built in 1936 when the Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal was constructed. According to The City of Kent, Ohio this Kent Dam is one of the oldest masonry dams in the United States, the second oldest arched dam in the United States and is the only dam that is attached to a canal lock. This dam was rebuilt in 1925 after damage sustained in the 1913 flood.
En segundo lugar, las fotografías que les presento son de la Presa de Kent, construída en 1936 cuando fue construido el canal Pennsylvania y Ohio. Según The City of Kent, Ohio esta presa de Kent es una de la presa de mampostería más antigua de Estados Unidos, la segunda presa arqueada más antigua de Estados Unidos y es la única presa que esta unida a una esclusa del canal . Esta presa fue reconstruida en 1925 tras los daños sufridos en la inundación de 1913.
