Definitely different

He stopped suddenly under the window, hesitant if he should keep going or not. One of his four legs remained on the air for a moment that seemed everlasting. He had just heard his humans exclaiming

this is it, this is it

in the enthusiastic, zestful way that smelled like trouble.

The old door, a couple of meters ahead, was scary and he didn't want to cross it. But it was exactly the door that the two legged creatures were talking about. If only they were a little more clever and could understand what he was telling. He knew that it was a bad idea but he was only a black dog and humans don't listen to their dogs when they are about to take life changing decisions.

Ok, I just made it up.

Nothing of this really happened, at least I think so :)

Actually the only thing that was stopping the dog was the leash that I erased in photoshop and I very much doubt that he was so sceptical about that old door either. Although it could have changed his life too. We almost bought that house a few years ago and if we had, everything would have been so different. There is no way to say better or worst (if such words are suitable to characterise our path in life in the first place) but definitely different.

Now that decision looks so long ago. A decision that circumstances made for us and led us to another path that we had never though to be possible.

But that's life.

Unpredictable, full of surprises, excitingly uncertain.

I was never good in long term plans. I usually go with the flow and let the universe to do its thing. Besides I have learned that it would do so, no matter what!

I took those pictures on 10/12/2019, on rainy day off from the olive's harvest, when I was still living in the island of Crete and had no idea where I would be in 2024 :)

This is also my contribution to the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay!

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 24-105mm f4L lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

All the pictures and the words are mine.
