I was into random travels, adventurous road trips, and exploring the hidden paradise of the countryside for the past few weeks (during weekends) together with my husband. Such activities were on our bucket list of making memories and doing unforgettable adventures together before he leaves and works abroad. And yes, we were able to collect valuable happy moments which are now stored in our gallery.
We are always on Cloud 9 in our every bonding moment yet sometimes I feel guilty for not bringing our two-year-old daughter Xab on our travels, mainly because I wanna keep her safe against the unpredictable weather and I don't want to get her tiny body get exhausted from the long ride.
And so to make up for the time that I wasn't able to bond with her outdoors, last Holiday, I brought my tiny little girl to her favorite places and let her explore and indulge herself in whatever captured her interest. Good thing our lovely town, Tabogon has these 3 attractions in one location that are just a few steps away from each other; the Children's Park, the Beach, and the Church.
So let's go and explore together with these tiny little feet! Taraaa!
San Isidro Labrador Church: Strolling and Running
When we arrived at the town, our first destination was the old church of San Isidro Labrador. This church was built around the the 1950s. In our town, we only have two existing churches, this one in the town which accommodates the majority of the town's population (lowland), and the other church is near the school where I am teaching (upland).
Just like other churches in the North of Cebu, this church goes with the typical design made of concrete cement and open side walls made of metal bars. While its the two big towers (bell towers) in front of the church, add to its appealing look. The church is unique and beautiful on its own. However, we weren't able to check its interior because it was closed.
Another thing that made this church beautiful and unique is the wide and huge ground filled with green grasses that surround it. The church is also enclosed with a concrete fence. Its churchyard is too huge that it can fit 5 more churches of the same size.
Its ground (the left side of the church) is plain and well maintained and very child-friendly so Xab enjoyed strolling, and running here and there. It was so spacious!
When my daughter started to get bored and tired of running and playing around, it was time I brought her to the beach.
Public Beach: Sands on toes
I've been visiting the beaches of my town yet there's one tiny beach that I had not set foot on. And guess what this beach is just a few meters away from the church, or shall I say, it is just below the church!
How we found this?
After my daughter gets tired of playing around the church, I took her to the back part of where the children's park is located, but during our walk, I spotted a narrow street that seems to reflect a view of the water. Unsure about it, we found ourselves going down the narrow street and were surprised to discover a small coast! It was a beautiful small beach!
My daughter becomes so excited and was very eager to go down. She was jumping on her feet and making happy cheers at what she discovered!
The tiny beach has white sand and is filled with docked fishing boats. It is simply lovely! It is surrounded by trees which made it look like a small cove.
There were groups of people enjoying their time on the beach. I saw tables and chairs which made me think if are for rent or if these people are residents on the coast.
I let Xab enjoy the cold clear water and play on the sand. I could see in her eyes that she wanted to swim too bud sadly she couldn't coz were not bringing clothes with us.
When I think, she had enough time on the beach, I invited her to go up because this time we would play at the park. She refused at first and insisted on staying.
Look at that face! She doesn't want to come with me!
When I told her that we would be playing on the slides, her face lit with excitement and happily obeyed to say goodbye to the beach.

And here we come on our finale, a play at a children's park. For the long years, our town doesn't have an official playground for the kids to play and run. Thankfully, with the effort of our town's mayor we now finally have this Children's park that kids could enjoy for free!
The park is situated at the back part of the church and is perfectly placed under the shade of the giant acacia tree, so children could play any time of the day!
Xab enjoyed climbing, running, and sliding. She was laughing and smiling while playing. My heart was filled with joy as I looked at her with a super happy face and her genuine sweet smile. This little girl didn't know how much strength and joy she gave me every time she smiles.😍
I am very happy that she enjoyed our simple escapade on that day. As much as I can I want to show her the beauty of the world, the captivating nature and beauty of the little things that surround us, and explore all of them.
We had a fun day strolling, running, and playing.😍
