Happy #Wednesdaywalk to all of you and many thanks to the both hosts of it, our beloved @tattoodjay and @elizacheng which are looking forward to amazing walks every week on Wednesday.
So I hope I can show you a nice Museums walk today. I was visiting the museum of money last Sunday. Because of maaaaaaany photos and some background informations I wanted to give it took some days to get the post about it ready and I thought it would be maybe nice for the Wednesday walk.
Also for all #travel lovers here, or fellas like me which like museums maybe nice and interesting. So if you visit #Lisbon maybe you go there by your own. Entry was free on sunday. Don't know the other days but you can check out more informations here:

Lets walk to the museum...
Surely I found some nice #stickerart again but no deeper details today, lets go to the museum.
Directly in front of the museum you will find some nice #arte too. Some sculpted metal head. Which looks super dope.
The artist is Hopare. His website is this here: https://www.hopare.com/
What to say about the Money Museum?
Before entering the museum, you have to have your things scanned like at the airport and go through such a scan yourself. Why? After all, there is a thick gold bar in the save. Overall, there is a lot of material value in the museum, at least for a museum that is a lot.
The museum has been designed by Providência Design (concept) and Banco de Portugal (development).
Simply said, it consists of thematic rooms or areas that deal with different topics related to money.
But first some impressions of the architecture and style. The design is niiiiiice.
For example, the theme 'Money in the period before the introduction of the currency', or 'Money in the whole world and its history throughout the centuries', as well as 'The production of banknotes and coins', also specifically 'The Banco de Portugal and its main tasks' and 'The role of money in the life of the ordinary citizen'.
Sure, the museum also has a kind of cafeteria, the museum store, according to the website also a conference room, financial education center, reception areas, and workshop rooms (but I didn't see them).
I was more interested to see aaaaall this amazing historical coins from all over the world.
Lets continue the walk, some parts have this style. Where the money is behind glasses with some descriptions and facts and some parts are like that here...
The #architecture of this building is super lovely by the way. Surely a clear line in design but also some marvelous details in it. But where it comes from...?
Once upon a time... It was the Church of S. Julião
Back in times, in the 17th century, the church of S. Julião and the current building of the money bank, was not in its current location, but more north of the one at the intersection of Rua de S. Julião and Rua Augusta.
After the destruction caused by the great earthquake of 1755, the church was rebuilt on Largo de S. Julião, where once stood the Patriarchal Church of King João V, which was also completely destroyed in the catastrophe. The reconstruction was completed in 1810. Six years later, a fire destroyed the contents of the church, which had to be rebuilt until 1854.
Since the 1930s, the former church has been owned by the Banco de Portugal.
Wowow, isn't it? I was overwhelmed and overflowed by all that blink blink in the dark with all that nice art design on it.
Through all times money was well designed in my point of view. And of course the museum presents the coins here pretty well. Even if it is daytime, the room is darkened and they played with the light effects good.
This was funny, because by going along here you will see yourself on the screens.
I let mostly the pictures speak for themselves. It should be a motivation for you to come over to #lisboa and visit this place, if you wanna read aaaaaall the details about the different centuries, or countries or the progress of producing the money.
This was a small way to reach the other side. Here you can see the money before we had the Euro.
And some nice architecture design again.
Pheeew, so much about the process, machines, old and new fiat money.
On my way back downstairs and out to leave finally after 2,5 hours I recognized this stuff here.
By putting in your (free) ticket, the Maschine goes on and explains stuff or details and infos appear on a screen.
So guys, I hope you liked my little Wednesdaywalk through the money Museum in lisbon.
What you think?
