In general, despite the service failures (a daily thing in my current Venezuela) and the annoying event with my cell phone, it can be said that I have a calm day. So, there's little more to tell, and it's better to comment on the event in question, which is ultimately about #fantasy characters that have been represented in different cultures throughout human history. Although the idea of benevolent, playful and slightly childish #Fairies, is a very typical cultural product of European culture, and from there it spread to countries that were colonies of European powers of past centuries.

En el calendario hay toda clase de fechas de celebración, yo he revisado por poco más de tres años tales efemérides de la #Historia para acompañar mi registro diario de mi #vida cotidiana (vida que resulta en muchas ocasiones tan simples y calmada que sería en extremo aburrido para bastante gente), pero siempre sucede que hay cosas que me sorprenden, tal como la fecha de hoy. Antes de eso, deja que haga un muy breve comentario de mi día, desde ayer ha estado fallando seriamente la electricidad y la señal de Internet, se presentó una falla en el celular de mi hermano y tuvimos que restablecerlo a condiciones de fábrica, eso de resetear el celular nos obliga a tener que descargar de nuevo las apps que no teníamos respaldadas por alguna razón.

Así que hay poco más que contar y es mejor que pase a comentar sobre la efeméride en cuestión, que a fin de cuentas trata sobre unos personajes de #fantasia que han estado representadas en distintas culturas a lo largo de la historia humana. Aunque la idea de las #Hadas benevolentes, juguetonas y ligeramente infantiles, es un producto cultural muy propio de la cultura europea, y de allí se propagó a los países que fueron colonia de las potencias europeas de siglos pasados.

Today 'Fairy Day' is celebrated, although there is also the long version of this name as 'International Fairies Day', adding the word international to the celebration is to differentiate its scope a bit from what it had when it began to be observed. This celebration begins as the proposal of an American artist, Jessica Galbreth, born Toledo (Ohio, 1974) and who, as far as I checked, she still lives in that same state and has her workshop there. She has different artistic works, but I think she stands out for her #drawings and #illustrations. Her #art is interesting, and she draws her inspiration from fantasy in general.
Galbreth has among his works many representations of these spirits of nature, the Fairies, in which he highlights the strong influence of Celtic culture in the creation of the image of these imaginary creatures, born in medieval Europe, also representing their strong bond with nature, but softening the cruelty that could be found in the oldest representations and leaving rather an air of sophistication, joy, elegance and a certain fresh and youthful charm.

Hoy se celebra el ‘Día de las Hadas’, aunque se tiene también la versión larga de este nombre como ‘Día Internacional de las Hadas’, eso de agregarle la palabra internacional a la celebración es para diferenciar un poco su alcance con respecto al que se tenía cuando comenzó a ser observado. Esta celebración comienza siendo la propuesta de una artista norteamericana, Jessica Galbreth, nacida Toledo (Ohio, 1974) y que, hasta donde revisé, sigue viviendo en ese mismo estado y tiene su taller allí. Tiene distintos trabajos artísticos, pero creo que se destaca por sus #dibujos e #ilustraciones. Su #arte es interesante y bebe su inspiración de la fantasía en general.

Personally, it caught my attention when I reviewed that according to Celtic traditions, these creatures could be observed during twilight, when the day wanes to give way to the darkness of night, but also on very specific dates, such as the recent solstice a few days ago, which would be the so-called 'Beltane', which in the Catholic tradition, and particularly in the Spanish tradition (which is the one I have in my country), conforms to the celebration of the eve of San Juan, which I think it's just today... Catholic #Fairy? This is funny. (Personal laugh)
I like fantasy. When I was young, I liked to read it when I had free time, and nowadays, I am entertained by reviewing adventure and fantasy novels of Asian origin, which despite the fact that they focus on young audiences, I (who am not young) I find them entertaining. So, I also have some heart space and memories for these endearing characters of diminutive size, great magical abilities, childlike personalities, and endless energy.

En lo personal, me llamó la atención cuando revisé que para las tradiciones célticas, estas criaturas se podrían observar durante los crepúsculos, cuando el día decae para dar paso a la oscuridad de la noche, pero también en fechas muy específicas, tal como el reciente solsticio de hace unos días, que sería el llamado ‘Beltane’, que en la tradición católica, y particularmente en la tradición española (que es la que tengo en mi país), se ajusta a la celebración de la víspera de San Juan, que creo que es el día de hoy justamente.
A mí me gusta la fantasía, de joven me gustaba leerla cuando tenía tiempo libre, y hoy en día me entretiene revisar novelas de aventuras y fantasía de origen asiático, que a pesar de que se enfocan en público juvenil, yo (que no soy joven) las encuentro entretenidas. Así que también tengo cierto espacio de mi corazón y memorias para estos entrañables personajes de diminuto tamaño, grandes habilidades mágicas, personalidades infantiles y energía inagotable.
Ok, esto sería todo para hoy, ya que tengo que cerrar y publicar antes del siguiente corte inesperado de electricidad (risa resignada) en fin, que te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
