Interesting we do this sort of thing, there are more event days than days of the year i think now.
It was created by the UN General Assembly after the United Nations declared a year of tolerance in 1995. The idea is that it would help institutions and the general public see tolerance as a staple in society.
Although i am not really sure the United Nations are tolerant unless it fits their agenda it is more selective than actually being tolerant.
It is funny to me that people need a special day to be tolerant of others it also confuses me a little.
Does this mean they are not tolerant everyday of their fellow humans?
Maybe that is why we live in a world that seems to be constantly in some kind of odds.
Being tolerant just means you need to be willing to accept behaviour and beliefs that are different than our own.
(It does not mean you have to agree or approve even)
Obviously there is a spectrum.
There is intolerant, receptive. broad-minded, tolerant and open-minded.
Intolerant is the inability to accept other people behaviour or beliefs other than your own.
Receptive is willing to listen and accept other peoples behaviour or beliefs.
Broad-minded is being willing to accept many different types of behaviours and beliefs as well as the choice of a person.
Tolerant as we know is the willingness to accept behaviour and beliefs other than our own even if we do not agree or approve.
Open-minded is willing to consider ideas, opinions, behaviour and beliefs that are new or different to your own.

Many people say they are open-minded but mostly they lie about that and you can easily test this if you wanted but it is very provoking to do so.
It can upset and rub people up the wrong way, so i promised my wife i would stop doing that and had to agree it is not a challenge or a goal.😢🤣

People will actually kill each other over stuff that happened generations before they were even born even if it changes nothing just because these people are a certain type of way.
Hate and intolerance is learned it is not inate in us it is good to remember that if you feel some type of way.
I would think we should be fixing bridges in the future not building more walls so we can be intolerant of others. We could work out diplomatic solutions that is good for everyone if we are willing to all be reasonably tolerant.
Institutions and government bodies will never get it right because they have hidden agenda's.
No, it has to be down to us the people and it starts in our daily lives.
I have friends from all over the world, that believe in all kinds of different cultural and religious standings.
It is called being tolerant, regardless if we agree or disagree on certain things we can all find common ground somewhere and build from there.
Sometimes we just need to agree to disagree and move on.
I hate to be that guy, but it is called being an adult, there are many people in this world that should try it on for size from what i am seeing these days.
Don't wait for people to let you know there is a special day, instead let's just be tolerant everyday it is basic really.
Anyways just seen this day while searching google about tolerance, because i am neuro-divergent often i will experience intolerant behaviour from people to me.
Often this comes from a simple lack of misunderstanding, most of the time for this reason i let it go because i understand that to experience tolerance i must also be tolerant of others.
I haven't posted much in the last few days here, i just keep running out of time so this is a mixture of today's thoughts and yesterday's activity. 🤣

Yesterday i played Splinterlands for the first time in a while, not for long just enough to go from Novice to Bronze II
So my new focus is Stealth will see how this goes i am not very clued up about this game to be honest.
