Florals for web design

This morning I started working on a new website and the image I had in my mind had a flowery feel to it.

I thought that it would be a nice touch to include some of my own flower sketches but I couldn't find them, they're boxed up somewhere in storage so I started a new one.

It felt good to sit in the sun soaking up some Vitamin D while I let my ink flow on the paper and my mind wandered off as I added layer on layer of definition to each petal.

There's something about doodling flowers that has always made me feel relaxed and happy inside. It was a good opportunity to pull out my Aquarelle water colour pencil crayons and jazz it up a bit I couldn't find my paint brushes so I used an eyebrow makeup brush which worked surprisingly well but don't tell anyone, I might start a new craze 🤣

It is going to be used as a backing image, so it's not going to be the central focus, but support the greater theme. It's got a nice calm feel to it which is what I was going for.

It's been a while since I've been able to sketch anything and it felt nourishing to my soul. Flowers and sketching tend to do that for me so it made sense to incorporate both.

I may need to do a few more of these for some of the other pages of the site. I'm thinking of tulips and daffodils, carnations and daisies. What would you suggest? Let me know in the comments.

All images and sketches are of my own making and taking
