★A traditional dish★

Hello everyone

Here in Bangladesh we all are food lovers— approximately all 170 million of us are in love with our own food. We do not only eat to live— we enjoy our food. No matter how much we eat all over the day is not gonna satisfy our hunger unless and untill we are served our traditional food. Only our own food can bring us the satisfaction. That is the case of almost cent percent of the entire population. No disrespect to all the very delicious food from all over the world but when it comes to the ultimate satisfaction & pleasure out of food — for a Bangladeshi ,it has to be our traditional food.

The list of our traditional food is pretty long. I love them all but here I am gonna talk about my favorite— widely popular and extremely delicious— the pride of Bangladesh— Biriyany.

It would be rare to find a person who doesn't like this supremely tasty rich food in Bangladesh. There are different types of biriyany—chicken Biriyany, meat Biriyany and even vegetable Biriyany are served and popular in Bangladesh. The most popular & of course, delicious is beef – Biriyany. The kind of taste and smell it produces— drives a food lover crazy— you get the smell of Biriyany and don't feel like eating —is impossible—in fact, that would be unbangladeshi. No matter how full we are—we still have the appetite for Biriyany. We can not not love it.

The way to cook Biriyany is a little complicated, only an expert cook can bring the perfection— I am quite lucky is this regard because my wife is really a good cook. That gives me a chance to share how to cook Biriyany— here is how it is done:—

Ingredients

  • Rice
  • Meat
  • Potato
  • Onion
  • Green chili
  • Ginger pest
  • Biriyany spice
  • Sour Yogurt
  • Milk
  • Alu bukhara
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Hot spices
  • Oil
  • Ghee

It takes a special quality of rice and the quantity of meat has to be not less than double of the rice. Biriyany has to be cooked with some specific spices— the Biriyany spice itself is a must. The meat has to be processed and seasoned first. Then the rice have to be cooked separately. When the rice is half done the meat has to be mixed with rice. And then cook it till it is done.

Biriyany is a very delicious rich food but I must confess it is not very healthy. In fact, doctors advise not to eat this food too frequently.
