Many of our actions are the result of our upbringing and beliefs. We are different individuals, and it's not surprising that we make decisions differently.

In life, it is either you do something from your heart to people just for the sake of love or you do it to win people's hearts or their favor.

Let's just say people do things for some reason because, as humans, we have reasons for doing everything we do in life.

The truth is that it is good to do things from the heart because when you do it from the heart, you won't regret doing it even if the person you helped didn't reciprocate the help. But when you do things to win people's favor and in the end, it doesn't go as well as planned, then you will be pained and regret taking such a step.

Even the holy scriptures say there are blessings in giving and helping people, so it is very good and okay to give to charity because it is not everyone who looks good is doing okay for themselves. But the aspect of publishing the help you give to the charity to gain more fame and followers is what is bad because that does not count as help anymore.

My mom made me and my siblings understand that once you help someone and you call someone else to witness it, you can't help but mock the person you claim to help.

She told us that when you help someone, another person must not know about it, and that is the kind of help that comes from the heart but is fake help to win people's favor.

There was a time I saw a social media influencer popularly known as Davido helping people, and he called his cameraman to video every single person he gave money to. Some people praised him and followed him, while some people said what he did was bad.

I don't like that aspect of him making videos of helping people; to me, he didn't do that from his heart, but he did that to gain more followers and people's hearts on social media.

Just this past yesterday, I saw a video of another celebrity sharing provisions at the hospital with sick people, and the camera was recording her giving people money and provisions.

What she did was good, but sharing it online for people to see is not a good thing but for her selfish interest. Sometimes I wonder if there are still people who help from their hearts and not because they want to gain people's favor and more followers for themselves.

No matter how many people would benefit from the help you wanted to render or anything you are willing to give to them, it shouldn't be publicized for any reason because you called it help and not a show where people come to win prices or items.

Once we make up our minds to help, it should be a private thing, and no matter how private it is, I believe people would still know about it, so why not let them find out and love us genuinely rather than publicizing it for them to see that we are actually helping people? Once you publish the help you render to people online, then your intentions are not pure, that is what I believe.

If someone helped me and I later discovered that the person was only doing that to gain people's favor and attention, I would definitely feel bad and embarrassed, even worthless because it is called help, which means it should be a private thing, not something the whole world would see.
