This is Aconcagua, located in the Andean mountains, un the district of Mendoza, Argentina. The mountain has a hight of 6.961 meters, which makes it the highest mountain outside Asia and also the highest in the southern and western hemisphere. We were staying in Mendoza, but took a daytrip to the national park. From the parking at the park entrance we started to walk the same route as the climbers will do. The view to the snowcovered top, was our view all the way to the the river. Here there is a small bridge, but when we crossed, the we were met with a sign saying that only trekers with a permit could continue. We went back to the carpark.
