A walk on a sublime Sunday

Hello everyone! 😎

This is my first post here, and the very name of the community seems to me to require a certain personal touch, so you really have to try if you want to write something meaningful that shows your feelings and at the same time, the community perceives your thinking.

It's Sunday, it's actually getting dark, and I'm editing my impressions from the afternoon walk.
A couple of days ago it rained heavily here in our area, but now it has been two days, unusually warm for October, and it was time to go for an autumn walk around my home, where I haven't been for a couple of months.

Autumn is a specific season for me, I see how nature slowly dies down and transforms into a different environment compared to summer or spring.
But I am also in those years that I identify with this season, although still only at times. The autumn of life and winter awaits us (me).

So we went for a walk with Atos, towards a local landmark, the waterfall SuΕ‘ec, which only appears when there is a lot of water, otherwise there is none. Usually, it's in spring or autumn, if there's a lot of rain.
He wasn't very enthusiastic, but I don't know why.

The SuΕ‘ec stream, which comes from a hill near the town, is not very big, but when there is enough water it can be very strong. When there is no water, it is dry, and then it is not. A typical karst phenomenon.
Incidentally, 'SuΕ‘ec' means 'Dry' in English, because for at least half of the year, there is no water at all, or it just drips slowly.

Typical autumn atmosphere and lots of humidity because there is flowing water nearby.

Another look back.
I really don't know why Atos refuses to move forward. Maybe because of the drops of moisture in the air, he doesn't like rain too much. If it rains he doesn't want to leave the house :)

We are closer. We'll be there in a few minutes.

We are here. Just a little more time, Atos, and we'll be back :)

Well, it's a local landmark, the SuΕ‘ec waterfall, the water gushing from under Mount SneΕΎnik, and it's even drinkable.
Higher up is a water station that provides drinking water for the whole valley (there is a huge underground lake under our town and it has never run out of water) and further afield, including the Kvarner Bay for towns like Rijeka and Opatija.
When I was a kid we used to play Cowboys and Indians here :)

Now Atos and I are going back because he can't wait :) πŸ˜‚

We took a different route, past a ruined factory that had not yet been restored.
This is where the decay and decomposition are really showing, maybe @slobberchops would be interested in this because he deals with such environments :)

There used to be a factory named Topol (in English Poplar) here, where the wood was processed into veneer.
Well, when socialism ended, about 30 years ago, it all fell apart because they didn't get along very well.

Since then it has been in ruins, they haven't found anyone who wants to take it over.

Well, something is moving. Someone has renovated the bread (and pizza) oven. It looks very good, don't you think?
There is hope yet!

That's all for today, Atos is happy because we are almost home, on familiar ground, and back on standby.

Thanks for your attention, this was my first post in the Sublime Sunday community.
