Are you caffeinated enough today?
After having a lot of different lattes for the last 2 weeks, I decided to slowly switch to filtered coffee. While some might think filtered coffee can be boring as it’s only water and coffee, among many that would change your experience is definitely choosing the beans. While the methods can also make an interesting experience but to experience some type of flavor, it's the beans that determines it.
It’s pretty important when you choose the beans of your preference. Some cafes might also only focus on this filtered coffee but some might also focus on lattes more than filtered coffee. Whenever you visit a cafe with plenty of options of beans, it’s something not to miss to try their specialty coffee or barista recommendation.
Today I am choosing coffee from Flores. They are known to have tart flavor and fresh cherries aroma that’s tempting. Unlike Balinese or some region in Java where the coffee is lime-like, there are many flores of coffee with strawberry candy-like flavor. The one I am having today is strawberry flavored.There’s a hint of sweet sour aftertaste that was extremely pleasant. As usual I opt for V60 and Japanese. It’s pretty hot outside and japanese brewing style makes good refreshing afternoon to evening drinks.
The place is called Rg (Rodgron Coffee). It’s an underground coffee shop that in the past I’ve visited multiple times. Now, I am hooked to the place as it allows WFC (work from cafe) without them rushing us to leave. We can work conveniently and they don’t play loud music as well. At the same time, the air conditioner is pretty cold.
It’s interesting how my coffee consumption has gone down since the last few years. I used to drink 6-7 cups to only 2-3 coffees/day. When I limit my coffee consumption, I get a lot more enjoyment and these days, I even gamify my coffee consumption. For example, to drink coffee, I have to finish a certain task or I have to do something before I can earn my first cup of coffee. This is why, unlike a lot of flores beans that I tried, today I was a lot more appreciative of it.
