In these summer months everyone is looking for a moment or a day to spend it near the sea, and not only because of the heat that invites you to cool off, but also because at this time of the year, in Cuba, the sea is more beautiful, calm and with the brightest blue.
In Havana there are many places to sit and enjoy the view of the sea as the coast and the beach area covers several neighbourhoods and municipalities. On this day I was in Santa Fe, a coastal town, with my sister and my little girl and we wanted to take advantage of the fact that we were near the sea to take the girl to see the beach.
We entered a café from where you have a very nice view of the beach, it is built on a pier and besides the gastronomic options, people come here to enjoy the sea. Our idea was just to spend a moment, but in such a cosy place it was impossible not to stay a little longer, and what better than to do it enjoying a coffee.
While my little girl was amusing herself in a small amusement park, my sister and I sat down at a table to order a café cortado (an espresso with a little milk). Cubans drink coffee whether it's cold or we're in the hottest summer, but now with the heat we have to cool off, so we accompanied it with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Needless to say, both were delicious, chocolate and coffee have always gone very well together.
I drank my coffee slowly to enjoy it as much as possible, and with the view of the sea in front of me it couldn't be otherwise. Here my sister and I spent a long time, chatting with our cups in our hands.
My little girl decided to have a lemonade, although she wanted to continue playing and didn't like me interrupting her fun, that's why she was a bit angry, but she soon got over her annoyance when she went back to the game.
It was a very pleasant afternoon, the place is quiet, very nice, and with a variety of options to spend it with the family. This was one of those days that you really enjoy and want to repeat (coffee included).
