Greetings to the coffee growers of Hive! It is an honor and a pleasure
to share this experience with you!
I really do not know much about coffee specialties, I only know about strong coffee or guayayo (as we say in Venezuela to soft coffee), because I have no coffee culture, and until recently I was only a social coffee drinker, sometimes with friends I would drink coffee and we would chat, now, when I wake up, I prepare coffee in the Greca that we discovered in the cupboard.
Of course it is a privilege to have so many varieties of coffee in the country, that is why I have been tasting each one until I found the type of coffee that best suits my palate, which is none other than Venezuelan coffee, which historically has accompanied the imaginary of Venezuelans: Fama de América" coffee, so it was a surprise to meet, at the brand's stand, the image, par excellence, of the coffee brand, where, in addition to tasting the coffee we met Soraya Sanz, the actress who personified the commercial for so many years.
In the exhibition we not only learned about the processes that lead coffee to become the bitter brew that we drink every morning, we also saw the machines that make it possible. There are many sizes and some of them even pack the product for sale.
There were, on display, the brands of coffee produced in Venezuela, as well as derivative products, and some gadgets that make it more comfortable to drink; such as cups, mugs and related art, for those who are not satisfied with just drinking it, but also want to make it part of their immediate environment.
In this pleasant experience, surrounded by the most beautiful nature, we were able to get to know the winning coffee, which was not a brand, but a type of bean, because the bean is what makes the difference, not the processing, which in the end, are all almost the same. At the meeting the first three places went to Miranda, Mérida and Yaracuy, with an export product.
In one of the stands, some grandparents let us see the old coffee processing, when no one had industrial machines, this process includes roasting in a cauldron, as well as the peeling of the grain by blowing the lungs, it is fascinating to appreciate this ancestral knowledge.
I must say that I did not drink the coffee that was offered to me because it was too strong, at home we drink it strong and black, but not to the point of looking like an espresso, but in the words of the older coffee maker, Marlon, it was delicious!
