Ramadan 2021 : My Iftaar table 09

Ramadan is like a rare flower that blossoms once a year and just as you begin to smell its fragrance, it disappears for another year!

Greetings of the day Hivers! Welcome to my daily iftaar post!

Today we completed the 9th day of fasting here in Mauritius, and in some countries they already completed their 10th one as they started one day before.

If you have been following my blog, since day 1 of Ramadan, I have been sharing all my daily Iftaar table exclusively on my Hive blog for everyone to get to know our culture here in Mauritius!

Iftaar table number 09

Its been such a busy day for me today...it was my supermarket day(yes since covid19, we still go by alphabetical order to do shopping!!!) and I also had some food orders to prepare for some guests!

Despite that, I managed to set up the iftaar table just on time and got to take some photos but in rapid mode!

The Snacks!

Only 3 fried snacks on the table today as we had some other dishes as main...specially rice! So less snacks so that we could enjoy our mains!

So here we have : Taro fritter, Chicken spring rolls and chili beignet!

The other 2 on top right are sweet items : Chebakia and Dates.

And the one that took most of my time preparing - this was the dish that I had to prepare for some guests too!

Chicken and Vegetables in Black Bean Sauce served with steamed rice!

If you wish to have the recipe, check it out here - I posted it on my blog couple of hours earlier!

No need to say it...super delicious...well well who cooked it!?
The chef of course!

Drinks , Fruits and Chocolate!

Today I want to show via 3 photos how we pour Moroccan Mint Tea, as per the Moroccan culture, if the tea doesn't have that foam on top, it is not a good tea!

Here is my wife pouring her tea like a pro! Uppppp and downnnn!

Tomorrow I'll try accelerate the rhythm to finish earlier!

Hmmm my favorite of the day...without any doubt it's the chicken and vegetables with black bean sauce!
