My bad experience with this Lathvian company started last morning when I found the following email from them:
I had to fly from Larnaka to Tallinn at night between Saturday and Sunday, and they sent that on Friday evening, the day before the flight. I started calling them but could hear only automatical replies about their working hours Monday to Friday. Then I found another letter from them sent two hours later and inviting me to start checking in for my flight online because it is open!
But.. that was the time when I discovered that there is no reservation with this number, and only after some steps more I found that my flight had been canceled! So, they cancelled the flight and sent a mail inviting for registration! What a nonsense! To make things worse, I have got a message from my son with information that, starting from this Monday, passengers arriving to Tallinn from Cyprus will be put on two week quarantine or self-isolation. Imagine my shock which lasted for about two hours while I was trying to call the AirBaltic. Their line came to life but there was only music and information that I must hold the line. I do not want even to think about the bill from my telephone company expected next month...
Meantime, I have got a new message from AirBaltic advising me about precautions on my flight (remember, it had been canceled at that moment for some hours!)
"We will care about your flight to make it safe and pleasant for you", that is what it says!
I lost a lot ot precious time and therefore lots of cheaper flights but finally found a ticket whiich must let me avoid the quarantine at home.
But one more interesting story: the price for the ticket was 257 euros plus for the luggage I had to pay... now attention! - 120 euros!!! Now I am sitting at the airport of Vienna waiting for the flight to Tallinn, so again, half of the way I will fly with AirBaltic.
We are landing.
The last two pictures were taken from the moving plane just on landing in Vienna.
