Hello Hivers ๐๐,
Now I have to show all this for so many reasons and I want us to see how amazing this farm was set up and also to bring out more farming beauty generally speaking. When we were in school we were thought all this theoretically as at secondary school level and also a tertiary school level. All combined to give all this huge knowledge about mixed farming or mixed cropping.
But when I visited a family friend and I went to their family it was so amazing because the children were very young and tender but they did so well by engaging themselves in mixed farming techniques where I saw they planted so many things on two plot of land. It was so good and great to see young farmers growing up and engaging themselves in it as well.
But for now I'm going to talk about this Cowpea Multiple Mix Farm where as you can plant just one type of crop and leave it for some weeks before Planting other types of crops. This Cowpea Farming is a dedicated type of farming techniques because you need to have a close watch on them as the germinate and grow.
Sometimes, the Planting of Cowpea needs to pass through some quality soil resolution, this is what I mean, you need a well loamy fine soil for it to grow and germinate well. And also as it grows you need to observe if they are not eaten up by grasshopper and co. You need to give a thorough guide for it as it grows into flowering stages too.
This kind of farming techniques is not easy to come by because most of we farmers do not have precious time to get things done, we move from one place to another in search for other ways to feed our family and the entire Community as well. Where as the Cowpea needs more attention and time to spend with it.
On this farm, I was also exposed to other farming ways which I will be sharing in my next post. Why do we need this kind of farming skills? It is good for indoor garden, large farming and also backyard farming. I learnt alot from this kind of exposure.
The Mystery About Cowpea.
- When staking in a proper way, one stake row can feed a whole family for weeks after harvesting.
