Babusar Top Highest View Point on KKH

Babusar Pass or Babusar Top is the highest point at an elevation of about 4,173 metres at the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. Babusar Top is situated on Karakoram Highway (KKH) and it is the highest point in the Babusar Valley. As road condition is very good so can be easily accessed by cars. But because of heavy snowfall this road is closed for few months of a year.

At this point Karakoram Highway (KKH) becomes zigzag road with tough ascending. Drivers must be careful while driving as many accidents occur on this road. At this point, view of Babusar valley is awesome so people stay there for a while to hike and enjoy the view.

At Babusar top you find some small shops and can enjoy local fruit and some snakes. I was glad to see a cargo truck at this height. Some goats were also grazing there. An information board is also mounted there for tourists.

As you cross Babusar top and start your downward journey its very dangerous and you must control the speed of the vehicle. You see many interesting and beautiful views of valley. During rain and snow this road is a bit slippery so be careful.

Coming back to Islamabad from Khunjrab, when I crossed Babusar top, I experienced season's first snowfall. It was mesmerizing and I completely enjoyed it.
