Nose masks made compulsory for all - Covid19 series

All too soon, we are all here again and it is a bright Wednesday again. As always the surroundings are in its cool mood of ensuring we feel the cool wind around and to get our day kick start with full energy. Wednesdays are always market days around here and it welcomes people from all over the country to come around and trade. But last week some people were of the view that traders who were not from our vicinity shouldn’t be allowed in to trade since they are coming from regions that have case(s) of covid-19.

But as wishes are just like wind, so do sharing of views are sometimes, my checks have it that every trader no matter who he/she is or no matter where he/she is coming from is allowed to trade, just that no trader or person would be allowed to enter any of the divided markets if he/she do not have a face mask on. Also they must practice the safety protocols as well.

Day 9 over here had a lot of news to digest but I will speak on only few ones. Now my side of the country which happens to be among the three regions that hasn’t confirmed any case of coronavirus yet, have put it upon ourselves to be on the compulsory nose mask policy. Since last Monday to now, when you meet like 10 persons here, you will see 8 of them being on their nose masks.

The only problem to this that we have is, since wearing of masks was never a norm for us until this recent when coronavirus began to spread around. This have made it difficult for one to put on his/her nose mask for quite a long time. They keep it on when they are entering a public place and either remove it when they are not in the crowd or draw the nose mask down just to catch some breathe.

The good thing here is that, almost every organization around have made it compulsory or you never enter their premises. And so the checks are going on very well. I also learnt that the various security services such as the police and the military have been dispatched around to ensure that any soul they meet has not just the nose mask for holding seek but should be kept on. This act by the security services has made every soul to be on guard.

The next news I would be speaking about is the incident that happened last Saturday in the greater Accra region, when the communications director of the opposition party (National Democratic Congress)
Storm the meeting of the electoral commission (EC). it is being said that this communication director of the National Democratic Congress placed an injunction on the supposed meeting that was supposed to take place in Accra but they changed the location to have it in a different region.

But the electoral commission came out saying the meeting attended was an internal one with their staffs and not for training people towards the elections come December. Concerns are being raised that why is the electoral commission have being declared as a monotonous institution, meaning the government is no the one who controls their affairs as some people say.

Lastly, Ghana’s situation on covid-19 as at the time of posting is 1671 confirmed cases, with 16 deaths and 118 recoveries. Life is an everyday thing and in this season of pandemic kindly stay safe by washing your hands regularly under running water with soap, using of an alcohol based hand sanitizer, and lasly practice physical distancing.

See you in my next episode and stay alive.
