This is my first post on Hive with the help of my friend @pandamama.
Lee and Christine, my two friends in Limassol wanted to show me the new market in Limassol - or Agora - as it is named here.
To our surprise it was open but only four stalls remained open during the lockdown.
We celebrated with a beer from the one open stall
After looking around we went for a walk outside and for me to draw some money from the ATM. The streets were eerily empty.
There was a very friendly lady taking temperatures at the entrance and she told us about the seven kitties who frequented the area just outside the building. She feeds them every night at 8pm when Agora closes for the lockdown.
She also showed us a stall which reputedly has beer from every country in the world. When it re-opens I will ask what he has from Manchester.
Lee arrived back from a meeting to take us back home.
I must say that it is sad to see a place so empty when so much work and effort has been put into it. Limassol needs a place like this, so hopefully it will come back to life soon.
I'm glad I've seen it now since I've heard so much about it.
Tonight we are experiencing a thunderstorm. First rain since I arrived back in Cyprus.
