As we walked around the city of Montevideo, I was struck by the many graffiti and murals in various parts of the city, including in public places, such as the school in the photo above.
But especially in the area known as the old city was where I found the greatest concentration of these striking works of street art.
These photos were a while ago and I don't remember in detail the name of the authors, although I'm sure they must be fairly well-known artists in Uruguay.
I wonder if any of them have dabbled in crypto art or nft, I think contemporary art, but especially this urban art aesthetic, has a lot of potential in the NFT world.
Some of these photos are from @escriptora, who was my fantastic and fun companion on this afternoon urban expedition through the lonely streets of the old city of beautiful Montevideo.

Arte callejero en Montevideo
Mientras caminábamos conociendo la ciudad de Montevideo, me llamó la atención ver muchos grafitis y murales en diversas partes de la ciudad, incluso en sitios públicos, como el colegio de la foto de arriba.
Pero sobre todo en la zona conocida como ciudad vieja fue donde encontré mayor concentración de estas llamativas obras de arte callejero.
Estas fotos fueron hace un tiempo y no recuerdo en detalle el nombre de los autores, aunque estoy seguro que deben ser artistas medianamente conocidos en Uruguay.
Me pregunto si alguno de ellos habrán incursionado en el criptoarte y los NFT, creo que el arte contemporáneo pero en especial esta estética de arte urbano tiene mucho potencial en el mundo de las blockchains.
