I'm starting to like telling little adventures a lot and I hope some of them are interesting to you, like today's.
The year is almost over and I want to tell you about an experience that marked my way of seeing aspects of a culture very similar to my previous post, but at the same time very different: Korean culture. A while ago, a two-day educational and cultural exchange was held very discreetly at the "Korean Language School" in Havana, with some native specialists in different fields, from traditional singing, Korean writing, traditional crafts, makeup and even gastronomy. The place was full of people, mostly young people who like South Korea for its different aspects or for its dramas or for its music, accompanied by their families. I really like that elegant country, especially for its music and its modern architecture; but it was really interesting to see all the new aspects proposed by the place.
First we sang and learned the lyrics of the most popular folk song in South Korea, recognized by UNESCO in 2012 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, called: "Arirang". I confess that thanks to my skills the singing teacher asked me to sing the main part followed by the others, to serve as a guide. I was so embarrassed!
Second, they made us some very pretty cards written with phrases in Korean, with a spectacular calligraphy. Then we tried on the beautiful traditional Korean dress: the hanbok; in my case the female hanbok I tried on was pink, which I later found out was a dress used by young, unmarried princesses in ancient times. After the beautiful parade of colors, they taught us in a super class how to make some beautiful lotus flowers of paper, and yes, even I was able to make a lotus flower without any imperfections, which is saying a lot.
Lastly, we had two classes, which were the ones that caught my attention the most; the makeup class, which I couldn't take pictures of because of the privacy of the minor models who volunteered to be the reference of the teacher for us, maybe one day I'll get brave and I'll post something of what I learned in the very instructive class; but lastly I think it was the class that everyone loved in general, the one of: GASTRONOMY. I promise you I had never felt so in love with the way an entire country cooks, from the spicy, its sauces, textures, cooking... I wouldn't know where to start, that's how I found out what is my favorite dish for the moment: the japchae, some noodles in this case of potato starch, vegetables and tofu, I say it openly: IT WAS SPECTACULAR! 1000/10, because not only did they teach us how to prepare it, but we also tried it; but we didn't only learn that delicious dish, but we also learned another classic Korean dish, the bibimbap, which its literal translation would be "mixed rice", which although its flavors were simpler, it was worth it completely.

Esto de contar pequeñas aventuras me está comenzando a gustar mucho y espero que alguna de las mismas les resulten interesantes, como por ejemplo la de hoy.📌
Ya pronto se acaba el año y quiero contarles una experiencia que marcó mi forma de ver aspectos de una cultura muy por el estilo de mi publicación anterior, aunque a la vez muy diferente: la cultura coreana. Hace un tiempo se realizó de forma muy discreta en la "Escuela de Idioma Coreano", en La Habana, un intercambio educativo-cultural de dos días con algunos nativos especialistas de diferentes esferas, desde cantos tradicionales, escritura coreana, realización de artesanías clásicas, maquillaje e incluso gastronomía. El lugar estaba llenos de personas, sobre todo jóvenes que les gusta Corea del Sur por sus diferentes aspectos o por sus dramas o por su música, acompañados de sus familiares. A mí realmente me gusta ese elegante país, sobre todo por su música y su arquitectura moderna; pero fue súper interesante ver todos los aspectos nuevos que proponía el lugar.
Primero cantamos y aprendimos la letra del canto folclórico más popular de Corea del Sur, reconocido por la UNESCO en el 2012 como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad, llamado: "Arirang" . Les confieso que gracias a mis habilidades la profesora de canto me pidió cantar de manera principal seguida de los demás, para servir como guía ¡Menuda vergüenza tenía! 😅 Segundo nos hicieron unas tarjetas muy bonitas escritas con frases en coreano, con una espectacular caligrafía. Luego nos probamos el hermoso vestido tradicional coreano: el hanbok; en mi caso el hanbok femenino que me probé era rosado, cuál después descubrí que era un vestido usado por las princesas jóvenes y solteras, en la antiguedad. Después del hermoso desfile de colores, nos enseñaron en una súper clase a hacer unas bellas flores de loto de papel, y sí, hasta yo pude hacer una flor de loto sin ningún desperfecto, que es mucho decir. 🤣
De último tuvimos dos clases, que fueron las que más llamaron mi atención; la de maquillaje, que no pude poner fotos por cuestión de privacidad a las modelos menores de edad que se brindaron para ser la referencia de la profesora para nosotras, tal vez un día me anime y les publicaré algo de lo aprendido en la clase tan instructiva; pero por último creo que fue la clase que todos amamos en general, la de: GASTRONOMÍA 😂. Les prometo que nunca me había sentido tan enamorada de la forma de cocinar de un país entero, desde el picante, sus salsas, texturas, cocción... No sabría por dónde empezar, de ahí conocí lo que por el momento es mi plato favorito: el japchae, unos fideos en este caso de fécula de patata, verduras y tofu, lo digo abiertamente: ¡ERA ESPECTACULAR! 1000/10, pues no sólo nos enseñaron a prepararlo, sino que lo probamos también; pero no solo aprendimos ese delicioso platillo, sino que aprendimos otro clásico coreano, el bibimbap, que su traducción literal sería "arroz mezclado", que aunque sus sabores eran más simples, valía completamente toda la pena.🥰
Aquí les dejo, un pequeño resumen de tan educativo acontecimiento. Pero díganme ustedes: ¿Alguna vez han presenciado un evento parecido? ¿Qué opinas de la cultura coreana?
