Pizza time with friends!

Swedes eat a lot of pizza!　It is quite common to invite friends over on weekends to bake and eat pizza together.　Yesterday, I spent the weekend watching Melodifestivalen, the current music show in Sweden, and eating the pizza we made.

In Europe, there is a very popular music program called Eurovision, which has been held since 1951.　Eurovision is a cross-national music program in which European countries that have decided to participate (Israel and Australia are also participating, so it seems that countries other than Europe are also participating) select their representative singers, and the best music of the year is chosen by everyone's vote.

Sweden decides who will be elected to Eurovision each year through Melodifestivalen, a two-month-long music program.　This Melodifestivalen is broadcast live throughout Sweden every Saturday and apparently gets a lot of viewership.

Yesterday, I made pizza at home to watch Melodifestivalen with my friends, and while eating it, we enjoyed watching the show that will decide who will win Melodifestivalen and represent Sweden at Eurovision this year.

Now that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is in full swing in Europe, sad news is reported daily and many people are worried about the future of Ukraine.　Instead of using violence and military force to start a war, as Russia has done, we should compete with each other through music and sports.

スウェーデン人はとにかくよくピザを食べる。　週末に友達を家に呼んで、一緒にピザを焼いて食べるということが結構頻繁に行われる。　昨日も、スウェーデンで現在行われている音楽番組である、Melodifestivalenを観ながら作ったピザを食べて週末を過ごした。

欧州には１９５１年から開催されて、Eurovisionと言うとても人気のある音楽番組がある。　Eurovisionは参加を決めた欧州の国々（イスラエル、オーストラリアも参加してるので、欧州以外の国の参加もあるようです）が代表の歌手を選出して、その年の最高の音楽をみんなの投票で選ぶといった国を超えた音楽番組である。

スウェーデンはそのEurovision に毎年誰を選出するかを、２か月にわたる音楽番組、Melodifestivalenを通して決定する。　この、Melodifestivalenはスウェーデン全土に生放送で毎週土曜日に放映されて、かなりの視聴率を獲得しているらしい。

昨日はこの、Melodifestivalenを友人と一緒に見るために家で一緒にピザを作って、食べながら今年は誰がMelodifestivalenで優勝し、Eurovision でスウェーデンの代表として歌うかを決める番組を見て楽しみました。

今、欧州ではロシアのウクライナ侵攻が本格的になり、悲しいニュースが毎日報道され、多くの人がウクライナの今後を心配している。　ロシアのように、暴力や軍事力を使用し戦争を起こすのではなく、音楽やスポーツを通して競い合えよい。
