There could have been a post here about the Wide Open Walls project, when a group of artists adorned the walls of simple houses in several villages with their paintings in 2010 to attract tourists and help local residents. But for 12 years, the paintings have faded and overgrown with grass, and the locals, instead of taking care of the safety of art objects, are thinking how to shake off money from tourists. Here we met the only inadequate Gambian during the entire trip, who beat off all desire to write about pictures. All the other villagers were nice and sociable. In addition, we witnessed a procession dedicated to the circumcision ceremony for boys. Circumcision of girls in the Gambia has been banned for several years.
