My acquaintance with the capital of Senegal began with a taxi. The car was not new and was clearly going to the cemetery. The taxi driver, however, asked for six thousand francs (9 euros) for the trip. With French-speaking Arabs, I bargain simply. I say, showing the splayed five: "Five - and yalla-yalla!" The most important thing was not to pay before we got there, otherwise the driver would simply abandon the car, whose cost was less than the price of the trip.
