I told about the Armenian part of Jerusalem, perhaps even a bit too much, but I want to make it clear. In my native Santiago de Compostela there is the Cathedral of St. James. And in Jerusalem there is the Cathedral of St. James. But there is one caveat.
The cathedral in Santiago is dedicated to James the Elder, one of the 12 apostles, brother of John the Theologian. And the Jerusalem Cathedral - to James the Younger, the "brother of the Lord" by his father and the first bishop of Jerusalem. According to legend, after the death of James St. Jacob Jr. delivered his head to the Jerusalem Cathedral, and the headless body in a boat reached Santiago de Compostela. This story was told to me with a noticeable Armenian accent.
In addition to the cathedral, in the Armenian quarter there is the Church of the Archangels, and almost on the border of the Armenian and Jewish quarters - the Assyrian Church, on the site of which, according to legend, the Last Supper took place.
