Modern or Wild Format or Both? My test evaluations after two seasons and the start of my third and final testing season
On Splinterlands the season number 137 is underway and will end in about 13 days and 1 hour.
Since bots and battle helpers were banned in Modern Format ranked battles I chose to play only in Modern Format even though I had many Beta cards that I could not use in battle.
When the Rebellion set was released I continued to play in Modern Format even though I could no longer use my Untamed cards in battle.
Starting in season 135 I began a test and played in both formats.
The purpose of my test is to have the data to evaluate whether it is more convenient for me:
- rent my Beta and Untamed cards to other players
- or use my Beta and Untamed cards to play in the Wild Format as well.
To do my test:
- I played as usual in the Modern Format with my main account: @libertycrypto27
- I played in the Wild Format with my curation account for SPT tokens: @libertygame27
- at the beginning of season 135, I split the amount of SPS tokens in my possession equally: I delegated 48K SPS staked to libertygame27 and kept 48K SPS staked on libertycrypto27
With libertycrypto27 I used in Modern Format a card collection consisting of 893 cards = 18943 BCX worth 1624$ and with a CP = 452655
With libertygame27 I used in the Wild Format a card collection consisting of 86 cards = 2212 BCX worth 732$ and with a CP = 93285
libertycrypto27 finished season 136 in league Gold II of the Modern Format: Rank: 725
libertygame27 finished season 136 in Champion II league of Wild Format: Rank: 4580
The win rate was better for libertygame27 although in the wild format I played fewer battles: 48.95% VS 51.38%.
A better winrate in the Wild does not correspond to a better gain in SPS but only to a better gain in GLINT tokens.
With libertycrypto27, during season 136, in the Modern Format I gained 523.95 SPS from wins in battles = 3.71 SPS per battle won
With libertygame27, during season 136, in the Wild Format I gained 128.11 SPS from wins in battles = 1.14 SPS per battle won
So far my testing has clearly shown me that playing with two accounts in both formats is not a very advantageous choice because:
- in season 134 I played only with libertycrypto27 in Modern Format and with 96K SPS staked I gained 605.58 SPS thanks to 168 battles won = 3.60 SPS per battle won
- in season 135 I played in both formats and gained a total of 669.09 SPS thanks to 326 battles won (Modern + Wild) = 2.05 SPS per battle won
- in season 136 I played in both formats and gained a total of 652.06 SPS thanks to 253 battles won (Modern + Wild) = 2.57 SPS per battle won
An additional gain of about 60 SPS per season does not in my opinion justify the time spent playing with two accounts considering that in my test I did not use bots but played all battles manually.
In the season that just started, the Wild Pass = a seasonal cost to play in the Wild Format Ranked Battles was introduced.
The Wild Pass was created to counteract the bots in the Wild Format but this solution is in my opinion one of the worst adopted by Splinterlands so far because while it displeases the bot-farms it has also created discontent among the real players who play in the Wild Format.
Any solution that affects bots but also real players is never an optimal solution in my opinion!
If bots are a problem and always have been a problem in my opinion they should be eliminated immediately instead of thinking and/or adopting partial or non-solving solutions to the bots problem!

If there had been no introduction of the Wild Pass I would have ended my test at the end of season 136 but I will continue my test for season 137 as well to see if the cost I will incur to play with my alt account in the Wild Format will be completely covered and exceeded by the gain in SPS tokens I will get from wins in battles.
If this does not happen, it will mean that the Wild Pass should be immediately eliminated and concurrently banned bots in the Wild Format should be immediately banned
Based on the current value of DEC tokens and VOUCHER tokens I have calculated the cost of the Wild Pass based on the different purchase options that can be chosen.
To purchase the Wild Pass it is best to use VOUCHER tokens as the payment method because in this case you get the lowest cost: $0.7991
To continue my test in the current season as well, I purchased 1 Wild Pass with 40 VOUCHERS.
Remember that to purchase Wild Pass with VOUCHER tokens you must have 40 VOUCHER in your in-game wallet.
I conclude this post by showing my first two won battles played this season in the two formats.
This season I started playing two days later than the start of the season because I returned today from a national swim meet that lasted 4 days and in which my daughter participated.
In the current season with libertycrypto27 I started from the Silver I league of the Modern format with a rating = 1700.
With 50K SPS staked I got as a reward from my first battle won:
- 129 GLINTS
- 2.47 SPS
With libertygame27 I started from the Diamond III league of the Wild format with a rating = 2900.
With 48.4K SPS staked I got as a reward from my first battle won:
- 211 GLINTS
- 1.32 SPS

Formato Moderno o Formato Wild o entrambi? Le valutazioni del mio test dopo due stagioni e l'inizio della mia terza e ultima stagione di test
Su Splinterlands è in corso la stagione numero 137 che terminerà tra circa 13 giorni e 1 ora.
Da quando i bots e i battle helpers sono stati vietati nelle ranked battles del Modern Format ho scelto di giocare solo nel Modern Format anche se avevo molte carte Beta che non potevo utilizzare in battaglia.
Quando è stato rilasciato il set Rebellion ho continuato a giocare nel Modern Format anche se non potevo più usare in battaglia le mie carte Untamed.
A partire dalla stagione 135 ho iniziato un test e ho giocato in entrambi i formati.
Lo scopo del mio test è quello di avere i dati per valutare se è più conveniente per me:
- noleggiare ad altri giocatori le mie carte Beta e Untamed
- o utilizzare le mie carte Beta e Untamed per giocare anche nel Wild Format.
Per fare il mio test:
- ho giocato come sempre nel Modern Format con il mio account principale: @libertycrypto27
- ho giocato nel Wild Format con il mio curation account per i token SPT: @libertygame27
- all'inizio della stagione 135 ho diviso in modo uguale il quantitativo di token SPS in mio possesso: ho delegato 48K SPS staked a libertygame27 e ho mantenuto 48K SPS staked su libertycrypto27
Con libertycrypto27 ho utilizzato nel Modern Format una collezione di carte composta da 893 carte = 18943 BCX del valore di 1624$ e un CP = 452655

Il win rate è stato migliore per libertygame27 anche se nel wild format ho giocato meno battaglie: 48.95% VS 51.38%.
Un miglior winrate nel Wild non corrisponde ad un guadagno migliore in SPS ma solo ad un guadagno migliore in token GLINT.
Con libertycrypto27, durante la stagione 136, nel Modern Format ho guadagnato 523.95 SPS dalle vittorie in battaglie = 3.71 SPS per battaglia vinta

Fino ad ora il mio test mi ha chiaramente mostrato che giocare con due accounts in entrambi i formati non è una scelta molto vantaggiosa perchè:
- nella stagione 134 ho giocato solo con libertycrypto27 nel Modern Format e con 96K SPS staked ho guadagnato 605.58 SPS grazie a 168 battaglie vinte = 3.60 SPS per battaglia vinta
- nella stagione 135 ho giocato in entrambi i formati e ho ottenuto in totale 669.09 SPS grazie a 326 battaglie vinte (Modern + Wild) = 2.05 SPS per battaglia vinta
- nella stagione 136 ho giocato in entrambi i formati e ho ottenuto in totale 652.06 SPS grazie a 253 battaglie vinte (Modern + Wild) = 2.57 SPS per battaglia vinta
Un guadagno aggiuntivo di circa 60 SPS a stagione non giustifica secondo me il tempo impiegato a giocare con due accounts dato che nel mio test non ho usato bots ma ho giocato tutte le battaglie manualmente.
Nella stagione appena iniziata è stato introdotto il Wild Pass = un costo stagionale per giocare nelle Ranked Battles del Wild Format.
Il Wild Pass è stato creato per contrastare i bots nel Wild Format ma questa soluzione è secondo me una delle peggiori adottate da Splinterlands fino ad ora perchè se da un lato scontenta le bot-farms dall'altro lato ha creato malcontento anche tra i giocatori reali che giocano nel Wild Format.
Ogni soluzione che colpisce i bots ma anche i giocatori reali non è mai una soluzione ottimale secondo me!
Se i bots sono un problema e lo sono da sempre secondo me andrebbero immediatamente eliminati invece di pensare e/o adottare soluzioni parziali o non risolutive al problema dei bots!
Non voglio dilungarmi o ripertermi in questo post perchè ho condiviso le mie opinioni e le mie considerazioni sul Wild Pass nel mio precedente post che puoi leggere cliccando sul seguente link.

Se non ci fosse stata l'introduzione del Wild Pass avrei terminato il mio test alla fine della stagione 136 ma continuerò il mio test anche per la stagione 137 per verificare se il costo che sosterrò per giocare con il mio alt account nel Wild Format sarà completamente coperto e superato dal guadagno in token SPS che otterrò dalle vittorie in battaglie.
Se questo non dovesse avvenire vorrà dire che il Wild Pass dovrebbe essere immediatamente eliminato e contestualmente dovrebbero essere immediatamente bannati i bots nel Wild Format
In base al valore attuale dei token DEC e dei token VOUCHER ho calcolato il costo del Wild Pass in base alle diverse opzioni di acquisto sceglibili.
Per acquistare il Wild Pass conviene utilizzare i token VOUCHER come metodo di pagamento perchè in questo caso si ottiene il costo più basso: 0.7991$
Per continuare il mio test anche nella stagione in corso ho acquistato 1 Wild Pass con 40 VOUCHER.
Ricorda che per acquistare il Wild Pass con i token VOUCHER devi avere 40 VOUCHER nel tuo in-game wallet.
Concludo questo post mostrando le mie prime due battaglie vinte giocate nella stagione in corso nei due formati.
In questa stagione ho iniziato a giocare con due giorni di ritardo rispetto all'inizio della stagione perchè sono tornato oggi da un meeting nazionale di nuoto che è durato 4 giorni e in cui ha partecipato mia figlia.
Nella stagione in corso con libertycrypto27 sono partito dalla lega Silver I del Modern format con un punteggio di rating = 1700.
Con 50K SPS staked ho ottenuto come ricompensa dalla mia prima battaglia vinta:
- 129 GLINT
- 2.47 SPS
Con libertygame27 sono partito dalla lega Diamond III del Wild format con un punteggio di rating = 2900.
Con 48.4K SPS staked ho ottenuto come ricompensa dalla mia prima battaglia vinta:
- 211 GLINT
