A dicembre, i sentieri sono particolarmente belli da percorrere e il Rifugio Ragabo è un'ottima base per partire alla scoperta della montagna.
E proprio dal punto iniziale abbiamo incontrato un gruppo di Alpaca. 😄
La temperatura media in questo periodo è di circa 6 gradi, ma è importante essere preparati con abbigliamento caldo e adeguato perché l'aria diventa sempre più fredda man mano che si sale.
La natura intorno è incontaminata, con piante endemiche come il ginestrino e il ginepro dell'Etna, piante sempreverdi che popolano l'habitat vulcanico.
Il paesaggio era incantevole, con una varietà di piante e alberi che popolavano l'habitat, tra cui la presenza di Pinus nigra e Picea abies.
La zona della pineta è un vero e proprio tesoro per gli appassionati della botanica, con una varietà di piante rare come l'Ilex aquifolium, la Vaccinium myrtillus, e la Rhododendron ferrugineum.
In definitiva, l'escursione alla caserma Pitarrone è stata un'esperienza indimenticabile, abbastanza semplice: un'occasione per ammirare la bellezza della natura e per scoprire un po' di più del vulcano più grande d'Europa.
