La reputación es algo que tiene un significado en Hive y otro en el mundo real, mientras acá se trata de un algoritmo matemático que responde a la cantidad de votos y el HP con que te hayan votado, en otras partes es la fama que te acompaña, el prestigio que te has ganado con tu accionar diario, sea bueno o malo.
¿Pero, cual de ellos tiene más importancia en Hive, prevalece alguna de las dos interpretaciones?
Reputation is something that has a meaning in Hive and another in the real world, while here it is a mathematical algorithm that responds to the number of votes and the HP with which you have been voted, elsewhere it is the fame that accompanies you, the prestige you have earned with your daily actions, good or bad.
But, which of them has more importance in Hive, does one of the two interpretations prevail?
Hace pocos días conversaba yo con algunas personas que sentían frustradas o decepcionadas porque sentían que esstaban haciendo un esfuerzo por crear contenido de calidad y no recibían el apoyo de las comunidades de curación ni las ballenas. Yo les explicaba que el ir creando la "verdadera" reputación es un proceso que lleva tiempo y dedicación, que más allá del voto, tienes que ir dándote a conocer y que todos sepan lo que estás haciendo y que lo estás haciendo bien. A ellos les contaba como en mis inicios en la plataforma, pasaba días y días publicando sin recibir el apoyo que yo consideraba que merecía.
A los minutos de terminar esa conversación, me siento a navegar en Hive y me encuentro con un post de @slobberchops, que lleva por título HIVE: No Votes, No Attention - Thinking of Giving up?, es decir: "Hive: no obtienes votos, no recibes atención - ¿Estás pensando en rendirte?"
Si no sabes inglés, pega ese texto en el traductor de https://www.deepl.com/, pues se trata de esa misma visión. Un usuario que llegó y no conseguía ni votos ni apoyo, pero que de manera tenaz se dedicó a buscar su nicho y su estilo de crear contenido. Resultado: en el algoritmo de la reputación ya va por 79 (aunque su reputación de la otra es posiblemente mayor a ese número) y unos votos envidiables en cada publicación.
Adicionalmente, hago referencia a una frase que encontré en otro post. A la usuaria @nancybriti1 le hackearon su cuenta, en la cual ya tenía una reputación virtual de 71. No le quedó más remedio que abrir una nueva, que como todas las cuentas nuevas, venía en 25. La frase a la que me refiero, pensé en copiarla acá, pero decidí no hacer spoiler y dejar que la conozcas en el video o la puedes leer en su nueva presentación.
A few days ago I was talking to some people who were frustrated or disappointed because they felt they were making an effort to create quality content and were not receiving the support of the curation communities or the whales. I explained to them that building a "real" reputation is a process that takes time and dedication, that beyond the vote, you have to make yourself known and let everyone know what you are doing and that you are doing it well. I told them how in my early days on the platform, I spent days and days posting without receiving the support I felt I deserved.
Within minutes of finishing that conversation, I sit down to browse Hive and come across a post by @slobberchops, titled HIVE: No Votes, No Attention - Thinking of Giving up?, because it's about that very vision. A user who came in and was getting neither votes nor support, but doggedly pursued his niche and his style of creating content. Result: in the reputation algorithm he is already at 79 (although his other reputation is possibly higher than that number) and enviable votes in each post.
Additionally, I make reference to a phrase I found in another post. The user @nancybriti1 had her account hacked, in which she already had a virtual reputation of 71. She had no choice but to open a new one, which like all new accounts, came in at 25.
The phrase is in her new introduction post and there she says: "We have the idea that reputation is a number in HIVE (my previous reputation was 71.5 and now it is 25), but it is not like that: your reputation is made by what you do, by how others see you and value you."
