From the first to the second of February traditionally the so called Imbolc festival was celebrated. A festival in honor of the goddess Brigid, the Goddess of fire, healing and the arts. The days are now becoming noticeably brighter and longer again in our northern world and if you look closely, you will notice that deep under the frozen earth the new life is making itself felt.
In the past, it was also the time when the first lambs of the year were born and thus the milk has also become a symbol of this time. Anyway WHITE is one of Brigids colors.
This ancient tradition was adopted by the Christian Church and still lives on in the Candlemas feast and the consecration of candles.
This year, however, February 1 is also the new moon in the sign of Aquarius. It is the day on which in China welcomes the New Year.

Vom ersten auf den zweiten Februar wird traditionell das Imbolc fest gefeiert. Ein Fest zu Ehren der Götting Brigid, der Göttin des Feuers, der Heilung und der Künste. Die Tage werden nun spürbar wieder heller und wenn man genau hinspürt, bemerkt man, dass sich tief unter der gefrorenen Erde das neue Leben bemerkbar macht.
Früher war es auch die Zeit in der die ersten Lämmer des Jahres geboren wurden und somit ist auch die Milch zu einem Symbol für diese Zeit geworden. Und die Farbe Weiß ist auch Brigid zugeordnet.
Diese uralte Tradition wurde von der christlichen Kirche übernommen und lebt im Lichtmess Fest und der Weihe der Kerzen immer noch weiter.
Dieses Jahr ist der 1. Februar aber auch der Neumond im Zeichen des Wassermanns. Es ist der Tag an dem das Chinesische Neujahr gefeiert wird.
Der nächste Vollmond am Mittwoch, den 16. Februar, wird im Zeichen des Löwen stehen und er gilt allgemein als

Hier finden wir also auch den Ursprung für den allseits (un)beliebten Frühjahrsputz. Es ist nun endgültig Zeit alles Alte loszulassen und Platz für das Neue zu schaffen. Die Sonne gibt uns schon wieder mehr Elan und so können wir uns alle auf eine Zeit freuen, in der es sehr leicht fällt ins Tun zu kommen.
