Hello dear Hive friends, as always I hope you are well and that you were able to make good use of your day! In this post I would like to go into a little more detail about a cult figure from ancient times about whom one or the other may have heard something before, hopefully you like my post!
Homer can be seen here and I was lucky enough to be able to photograph the sculpture in a park near me. I think this work of art of this historical figure was made very authentic and detailed, it is simply something special and it is a pleasure for me to be able to write something about it on my blog today!
The Greek poet Homer may be familiar to one or the other, he is considered the author of the well-known books Iliad and Odyssey. Historically, this person is very controversial and it is still often discussed today whether this person really existed at all and also not much is known about the place of birth or death. He is considered one of the earliest poets and therefore only a little has been known and explored about him, since he was part of the epoch between 1200 - 800 BC., from a time about which not much information is known.
Even if not much is known about his birthplace, there are 7 places that can probably be considered and these include Argos, Chios, Smyrna, Athens, Ithaca, Kolophon and Pylos. There is also a legend that he was born near the river Meles and in the place where he died the science is safer, it was probably the island of Ios. It is assumed that Homer was blind and the first work he wrote is Iliad, which is about the war between the Greeks and the city of Troy. You can find out more about what happened after the war in his second work, the well-known Odyssey.
Many thanks for stopping by and watching! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.
