Wrong Side Of The Tracks

Ever been there? That mythical place where either good people don't go or you hail from. Really, it's more a state of mind than an actual place.

On one side there's poverty and neglect, and on the other the blight of gentrification has taken hold. Kind of makes figuring out which is the 'wrong' side a bit difficult.

Just look for the razor wire. Three single strands of barbed wire atop a fence is the universal sign for 'an attempt was made,' and a good sign you've yet to cross the right tracks to the wrong side. Razor wire means you've arrived in the land of Not Fucking Around Anymore.

Y'all remember the 'broken windows theory'? It was Rudy Giuliani's favorite thing until he discovered Four Seasons Landscaping. LMPD doesn't give a shit about nobody's windows but judging by the number of times I've been subjected to the old Stop & Frisk song and dance routine, it seems they're still acting out at least part of it.

No Stairway to Heaven here. The wrong side of the tracks implies that there's a neat delineation but with the way things have sprawled and shifted over the years, it doesn't really work out that way here in Louisville.

Just a bunch of folks trying to get by and a few trying to get over on them. And maybe do a burnout or two.

This being the internet, can someone please tell me if this is serious or satire?
