La Vida Loca

These last few weeks have been quite the wild ride here in these disunited states. Was going to rant and rave about all the goings on but there's already too many people doing that, will have to hold off on that. For a little while at least.

No need to pile on. Have always been fascinated by the disconnect between tone and tenor of how we perceive the world via the media and the realities of everyday life.

Turn on the TV and the end of the world is always just around the corner. Meanwhile, we're all out here just trying to get by and find something to break up the monotony.

Pretty sure we've been fretting about the end ever since the very beginning. The elites just keep getting eliter but we're too busy trying to keep the air conditioner from walking with Jesus to do much about it.

It's easy to blame the press for the mess we're in but I try to give them a pass. After all, they inhabit those rarified spaces where the public can't go, how can they know?

They can do all the 'man on the street' pieces they want but it's still just blowing smoke. Superficial. Real life moves at the pace of glaciers melting and that just doesn't sell advertising.

So stop and smell the donuts. You never know when you'll make the news and not get another chance to.

On that note, it's time for me to Ride On.
