Hello, friends of the Black and White community! Today has been a roller coaster of experiences, a true fusion of the different worlds a photographer inhabits. My day started at 6 AM, attending a photographic event about the history of the World Cups alongside renowned reporters from Peruvian TV and radio. It was a beautiful experience, learning about the fast-paced movement of press photography.
However, later in the day, I faced one of the most uncomfortable situations for a street photographer. While shooting on the bus, a lady accused me of taking her photo. Despite my denial, she made an exaggerated scene, demanding to see my camera. With a clear conscience, I showed her that there wasn't a single photo of her. Even so, she walked away grumbling nonsensical comments.
It’s a strange duality: in the morning, I was surrounded by professionals where the lens is respected; in the afternoon, I faced the ignorance and misunderstanding that sometimes surrounds street art. Both experiences define what it means to document "Lima the grey." I'm dying to get home, open Lightroom, and process today's captures. I hope you enjoy this series, born from the adrenaline of the press and the grit of the daily commute!

¡Hola, amigos de la comunidad en Blanco y Negro! Hoy ha sido una verdadera montaña rusa de experiencias, una fusión de los distintos mundos que habitamos los fotógrafos. Mi día empezó a las 6 AM asistiendo a un evento fotográfico sobre la historia de los mundiales, rodeado de reconocidos reporteros de la televisión y radio peruana. Fue una experiencia hermosa, aprendiendo sobre el movimiento y el ritmo de la fotografía de prensa.
Sin embargo, más tarde me tocó vivir una de las situaciones más incómodas para un fotógrafo de calle. Mientras hacía fotos en el bus, una señora me acusó de haberle tomado fotos. A pesar de que no era cierto, armó un escándalo exagerado exigiendo ver mi cámara. Con la conciencia tranquila, le mostré que no había ni una sola foto suya. Aun así, se fue refunfuñando y diciendo cosas sin sentido.
Es una dualidad extraña: por la mañana rodeado de profesionales donde el lente se respeta, y por la tarde enfrentando la ignorancia e incomprensión que a veces rodea al arte callejero. Ambas experiencias definen lo que es documentar "Lima la gris". Me muero por llegar a casa, abrir Lightroom y revelar lo capturado hoy. ¡Espero que disfruten esta serie, nacida entre la adrenalina de los eventos y el ajetreo del micro!
