Weed Roots

I feel challenged with this theme, why? Because previously I wanted to write about the ginger, turmeric and curcuma rhizomes that are widely available in my garden, but I have often discussed about turmeric and ginger. I decided to discuss wild spinach root/thorn spinach(Amaranthus spinosus) and also the roots of weed (Imperata cylindrica).

Weed Roots

The roots of these two plants are rarely discussed because many do not know how to use spinach roots and weed roots as medicinal plants. How do I find out this information? because I have a friend who works and dedicates his life to studying herbal plants, this friend of mine also opens an alternative medicine practice using various herbs that are widely available in Indonesia.

Although spinach roots and weed roots have many benefits, but I will discuss according to my knowledge and have proven effective for treating and overcoming health problems, friends can add in the comments column to add information related to spinach roots and weed roots if the information I provide not enough. There is no herbal medicine that is 100% effective for everyone because I believe everyone has different hormones and blood types to respond to herbal medicines that enter the body, therefore everyone has a different reaction to a medicine.

Spinach Roots (Amaranthus spinosus)
For spinach roots, I use spinach roots from thorn spinach/wild spinach that grows a lot in my garden, wild spinach plants are not planted because they grow wild, the very fine seeds will fly in the wind so they will fall in any place and eventually grow become a new spinach plant.

Weed Roots (Imperata cylindrica)
Imperata is a weed plant because its presence can interfere with the growth of other plants. Weed plants can grow in extreme conditions during a long dry season, their long and sturdy roots can find water sources in the soil. Weed plants are very difficult to eradicate because their strong roots will stick firmly in the soil, so if we don't pull out the roots, it doesn't take long for this plant to thrive again.
