Christmas and New Year is one of the most awaited and important holildays of the year and here I am sharing you my memorable experience during my new year's eve although I cannot share with you how I spent my Christmas because I wasn't prepared and I was also busy with my studies so I didn't have time to prepare my blogs. Enjoy pa
First, I woke up early to feed my dogs and prepared myself since I went to the market to buy the needed ingredients. My first stop was in Starmall for groceries because it is all convenient, like all the things you need from local to international are available. After that, I went to Tabunok Public Market to buy some fresh meat and a little fun fact for you guys if you want to have the freshest meat, go to your local markets and make sure that you have a "to-go" vendor.
After all the hustle and bustle, I went home and I am starting to get ready all the ingredients because I was the one who cooked. I will be cooking kare-kare (beef or pork with peanut based sauce), macaroni salad, carbonara and crispy pata (fried pork legged). The first thing I cooked was kare-kare because it is time consuming so I prepared the beef ribs and after that I made the peanut based sauce and mixed it right after. Next, was the macaroni salad and I relaxed a bit since I was tired. The next food that I cooked was pasta and it was easy and it won't take much time.
I also helped out with our dining area to make it more presentable. Fast forward, it was already 10 in the evening, I started cooking the crispy pata and last was the italian carbonara since it is best to eat when it's hot. After the cooking session, the time check was already 11:30 in the evening, the people were starting to honk their horn, loud music and firecrackers were everywhere already. This New Year's Eve was really special to us because last year Typhoon Odette struck the whole Cebu causing to cut all the electricity and water so we were not able to celebrate new year's eve and christmas last year. After 12, it's now 2023! I was shaking so much my piggy bank because we Filipinos, have the tradition to shake their piggy banks and wallets to have luck with money but I wasn't able to stay longer because my dogs were afraid of the noise so I had to be with them to comfort them and after that we ate with my family. Right after, my friends and I started to gather around to have some fun and drink all night.
Be thankful to have another year and be thankful that there were no other calamities like last year. And I know it's a little bit late but I'm wishing everyone a happy new year and have a fruitful and prosperous year!
