Every unexpected situation or problem is a gift. Without it, we will not grow. --- Going home to my beloved province on its rest days gives me relief, even if it's just normal days with no special occasion. I just went home to breathe fresh air and relax with family, like eating together.
I ride together with my cousin on his motorcycle on that day since we have the same day off. It's quite far, so we agreed to travel after breakfast. It takes 2 hours travel since it's motorcycle and not so traffic. While we're traveling, and both of us are excited to have arrived early, like in the middle of the city and province, my cousin observes that there's something or a humming sound from the tire of the motorcycle and that it's flat. It really happens to most motorcycle drivers and really kills the mood. We immediately pull over into the safest area to fix a flat or find a motorcycle shop since it's dangerous to continue traveling with a flat. Likely, you will lose control and result in hazardous incidents. Luckily not so far of walking we found a volcanizing or a repair shop. We lined up since there was one more bike ahead of us. After an hour of waiting, it was repaired. And we continued our ride with smiles on our faces and moved on. A lesson learned for us, and especially for my cousin, is to inspect or check everything first when traveling. We stopped by to buy pasalubong, which is called bingka. It's a baked rice cake here in the Philippines. Commonly known for one of the delicious snacks from the Philippines. And it's cooked in a terracotta oven with banana leaves. Thank God, after 2 hours of riding, we arrived safely in our home town, even though we experienced flat tires.
To prevent flat tires, especially when traveling, it is better to have regular maintenance done on your motorcycle and inspect the condition of it first. Make sure your phone is fully charged when traveling for this kind of emergency to ask for or call for help. Stay calm and have patience with yourself when experiencing this kind of situation. There's always a solution for everything. Always remember these tips to have a smooth ride; otherwise, you may experience difficult situations. Safety first.
