Nasi Lemak

The last time I came to this particular restaurant was a year ago. It's been a year. I traveled two and a half hours for a short day trip from Miri to Bintulu and this was one of those places that I had to go to. This place is famous for one thing and that is Nasi Lemak, the must-try local Malaysian food if you are in Malaysia.

PINNS NASI LEMAK RENDANG

This is one of the must-order dishes if you are here at PINNS Nasi Lemak, Bintulu, Sarawak. We are on the island of Borneo.

It is lunchtime and it is packed with people.

Everyone here eating lunch. Despite this place being packed, the food served is quite fast. It took around 15 minutes for the food to arrive.

The Menu

At most places, the menu is in English in Sarawak. So, for any tourist that comes to visit Sarawak, it won't be too hard to understand this.

The kitchen

The last time I was here, the walls were plain cement. Now, it's all covered with tiles.

A market in a restaurant

Chatting sounds were audible and loud.

The lights are extraordinary and in a basket in case.

My wife waiting for her food.

After 15 minutes, the food finally arrived.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang

Coconut rice with fried chicken in rendang sauce

The meat is huge and superbly crispy. There are lots of small bits of fried anchovies and peanuts. Then, there is a fried egg. There is a bit of sambal or the special Malaysian sauce on the side of the plate that gives the rice intense flavours.

My wife ordered the Nasi Lemak lamb. Different types of meat.

A cup of delicious milk coffee. This coffee is intense. The coffee in this cafe is usually placed in stainless steel cups like this.

The price of the food here is quite affordable and definitely mouth-watering.

Have a great day ahead.
