Family dinner

Hello, my friends… how are you? It is another Sunday. Recently, I went to have family dinner. We went to eat dinner at Wandering Chinese Restaurant. This is one of the most popular places to eat here in Miri, Sarawak.

The Wandering restaurant

The interior of the restaurant with lots of Chinese lanterns.

My brother in law (short hair) and his older bro. Asher, my nephew in his arm.

Ordered a cup of milk coffee ☕️ without sugar.

The best thing to do before a meal for me is definitely drink the coffee.

There are also many tables outside of the restaurant

The lantern

Such a beautiful looking 🏮 lantern that adds to the overall experience of eating here at this restaurant.

Avery, my niece

She has lots of different facial expressions. Always happy. She loves to explore the world. Curious at her age.

Steamed prawns for dinner

Steamed prawns. I usually use the fork to remove the shell of the prawns. These prawns are quite fresh. These are steamed so they are in a way healthier than the fried versions.

The soup

This soup has lots of different types of veggies inside. Usually, I pour it into the rice I have to soften the rice. The taste of the soup is more towards the plain side.

Salted egg fried chicken

These are quite delicious with a slight salty sweet texture of the gravy.

Mi ling

That is what Sarawkian call this type of vegetable.

This usually grows in the wild and are usually not farmed. A type of fern that grows natively here. It is usually stir fried with red wine and has a crunchy texture.

Avery with another expression.

Steamed fish in soy sauce

This fish is steamed in soy sauce, ginger and garnish. Usually, when it is served, there is a candle beneath this dish and it burns for a while to warm the fish.

The soup

The best thing is the happiness in being able to be with our family from time to time to catch up. We tend to get pretty busy at times.
