Hello everyone. I had the opportunity to take my wife for a drive around to San Sai Subdistrict in the district where we live. San Sai Subdistrict is another subdistrict with many beautiful temples. We therefore want to visit the temple in this subdistrict. And the first temple for this trip that I want to share with everyone in this post is Wat Si Thoi. The distance from my house to this temple is about 17 kilometers. But our travel time is about 28 minutes on highways and rural roads. Because it rained that day. So I focused on driving and didn't photograph the atmosphere on the road of the trip that day.
When we arrived at Wat Si Thoi. We were lucky that the rain had stopped. So we can walk around the temple. When me and my wife walked outside the temple. We see the name plate of the temple. The name plate of the temple is a simple wooden name plate. The area in front of the temple is the atmosphere of a rural village.
Wat Si Thoi does not have an entrance arch to the temple. But on the wall between the entrance to the temple are two lion sculptures.
I think Wat Si Thoi has 4 architectural highlights that are interesting. The first highlight is the ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is a chapel built and decorated in the original Lanna style. Which looks outstanding and has a clear Lanna unique. Me and my wife think the ordination hall (ubosot) is beautiful and classic. And we really like this ordination hall (ubosot).
The second highlight is the temple's pagoda. This pagoda is a large white pagoda decorated with color gold patterns. And is a polygon bell-shaped pagoda with color gold top. There are many elephant sculptures surrounding this pagoda. The pagoda is behind the ordination hall (ubosot).
The third highlight is the buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is located near the entrance to the temple. The buddha image hall (viharn) is built and decorated in Lanna style as well. But I think, the buddha image hall (viharn) looks less classic than the ordination hall (ubosot).
On both railings at the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) there are sculptures with heads resembling birds. But the body and tail are serpent. And there are many white angel sculptures around the buddha image hall (viharn).
The fourth highlight is the old Thai pavilion by the pond in the temple. This pavilion looks classic and there are 2 lion sculptures. In the pavilion area there are many clay pots used for drinking water in the past.
The area in this temple looks shady with many trees and flowers. And there are many white angel sculptures around the temple.
And now the temple is building another architecture similar to the ordination hall (ubosot). But I don't know what kind of architecture this is. But I think this architecture will be beautiful when architecture's completed.
When we walked in the temple for a while, it rained again. So we go home. While driving from a country road to a highway. We see many fields of the villagers. So I also took pictures of some of the rice fields to share.
These are the stories and photos of me and my wife's trip to Wat Si Thoi. Of course we really enjoyed this temple. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos in this post. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
