"getuk lindri" is a traditional food with a distinctive taste made from cassava

Hello everyone, how are you? Today I want to share a recipe with you for a cassava-based dish. This cassava plant grows a lot in areas with dry soil, apart from the tubers, the leaves can also be cooked like vegetable curry or for fresh vegetables.

This time I want to make a snack using cassava as the basic ingredient, namely "Getuk Lindri" which is a traditional Indonesian food, especially Javanese, the way to make it is very easy and very fast and doesn't take a long time.

Getuk is usually served as a side dish in the morning or afternoon as a companion to tea or coffee. This food is made by mixing brown sugar or granulated sugar and served with a topping of steamed grated coconut.

The sweet taste mixed with the savory grated coconut topping makes this food even more perfect.

Let's just do it now Necessary materials :

500 gr peeled cassava
1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp butter/margarine
2 tbsp granulated sugar
Food coloring

Note: if you use brown sugar and don't like sweet foods, you can skip the sweetened condensed milk and replace the granulated sugar with brown sugar according to your taste.

How to make :

• Cut cassava that has been peeled and washed clean into smaller pieces then steam in a hot steamer pan, steam for approximately 10-15 minutes.

•While hot, mash the steamed cassava until it is half smooth.

• Once it is smooth enough, add the sugar, sweetened condensed milk and pounded butter again until it is really smooth.

• When it is smooth, divide the mixture into several parts to add food coloring. I used red and green to make it more attractive.
Still hot, mix the mixture with the coloring until evenly distributed, then mold it with a cake mold or shape it with a baking sheet as you wish.

• here is the result of processed cassava getuk lindri with a sweet taste. If you want to use grated coconut topping, just steam the grated coconut with a little salt then serve with getuk.

This is a traditional food that is still very popular in Indonesia. I hope you like what I wrote and are interested in trying to make getuk for your sweet snacks.
Thank you for your support, I hope you are always happy. GBU
