First post-lockdown Hash!

Once again, I need to remind everyone that this post is not about hashish or any other kind of drugs. This is a running post for the club that are "drinkers with a running problem" and there are over 5000 chapters all around the world. Ours just happens to be in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

After over a month of not doing runs because of Covid restrictions and later because we didn't want to appear as though we aren't being concerned about the virus, we have finally gotten back together for our first week of runs and it was an absolutely perfect one.

Most of our members are not in the country at the moment and it seems as though it will still be a while before they are all back (if they come back at all) but in the meantime we were very happy with the turnout of almost 25 people for the celebratory first run in a while.

To make things a bit "special" we had some food this time, which is a rarity since normally we just focus on having beer. The reason for this is because we normally would go for food afterwards as a group but most restaurants that we frequent are still closed due to city-wide regulations and even the ones that are open are not allowed to serve beer and well, what's the point of going if you can't have a beer?

The trail was very flat but came with a bunch of water hazards since we were mostly in some farmland. Just like the picture above details, if you end up on the wrong side of one of these irrigation canals you could be facing a potentially gross dive into some questionable water, and more that a couple of our Hashers returned back to the start point with wet boots!

Personally, I have never been on a run here so it was kind of a nice surprise to see this very elaborate temple in the middle of nowhere.

There was a cooking school out here as well that was kind enough to allow us to use their outdoor seating area for the circle, where as per usual, we started to act ridiculous and drink tons of beer.

Thanks to everyone that abided by our temporary rules as far as "distancing" on the bus was concerned. According to our contacts in the police department everything that we did with our transport was exactly what was expected and because of this we will resume 3 time a week runs as we have done in the past before covid turned all of our lives upside down.

The usual pickup times have been resumed at McDonalds but for the foreseeable future we are still going to ask everyone to remain spaced apart in the buses and to keep their masks on until we get out of civilization. We did everything correctly this past time and let's go ahead and keep it that way so that we can continue to do this.

Full details of all upcoming runs can be found on our official website
