About half of our members have been "locked out" of Thailand for over a year now but Hashing doesn't die, it just moves to another location and this is one of the best parts about being a Hash House Harriers member: There are over 5000 chapters around the world and no matter where you are, chances are you are not far from a Hash location near you.
Everyone in this picture is from the Chiang Mai Hash chapter, but they all got together for a Hash even in England this past week and it was just as successful (from what I can tell) as it would have been had it taken place back here in Thailand.
I approve of these outfits
The temperatures were considerably lower, the humidity was about half what it is here, and it was a lot of fun for those of us that are still in Chiang Mai to see that our members are still active, even if they are on the other side of the world from where we are at the moment.
This run is something that would happen every week anyway but what makes this one special is because of the fact that one of our "exports", a Thai woman known as "Knockout" in the Chiang Mai Hash House Harriers is the person who set the trail. This is the first time that any Thai woman has EVER set a trail in Norfolk, England and we are extremely proud of her because while I am sure there were a few problems (there always are) she pulled it off and nobody died.
We miss her an awful lot here in Chiang Mai because she could always be depended on to participate in the Hash and also to be quite vocal in any of our meetings. She was loud, she was proud, and now she is unfortunately in England instead of here.
We hope that one day she will come back to visit but we are also very happy that she is representing her "mother hash" of Chiang Mai in England with pride.
While we would much rather have Knockout, Mr. Poo, Prison Bitch, Discharge, Alice (a man), and Big Ugly Fucker (all Hash names... lovingly bestowed) here with us in Chiang Mai, we are happy to see that they are able to carry on the tradition of Hashing wherever they are. May your beers be cold and your trails be flat!
