A hilly and wet jungle trek to celebrate a member's 100th run

The reaching of 100 officially logged runs with a Hash chapter is a big milestone and one that not very many people ever achieve. On this celebrated day it is customary that the person who we are celebrating set the trail and thankfully the man of the hour, Scooby-Doo, had the time to do exactly that. He kind of punished us with the trail he chose though.

While a lot of our runs involve actual trails that are put there by farmers or by the national parks, a lot of our Hares aspire to have a trail that isn't actually a trail at all. These almost seem like parts of the jungle where nobody ever goes and with the hills, the wet ground, and the heat and humidity combined, it can be quite punishing.

This wasn't farmland. As far as we could tell this land isn't used for anything at all. It might have been National Park land. As usual we were trespassing so we don't really know. Thankfully no one gave us any grief about being here and getting in trouble is something we try to avoid and it rarely happens to us.

There was so much mud that these hills were particularly difficult because it was quite common for you to lose your footing. Thankfully, and totally by luck, the "ups" were a lot steeper than the "downs" which is a good thing because falling forward on your face isn't that bad, but losing your footing while facing a steep decline can be a recipe for disaster.

Thankfully back at the circle the rain held off and this is good because our launch point didn't have any cover. At that point all of us were soaked anyway so it probably wouldn't have changed things very much even if it had been pissing down with rain.

We all berated Scooby for his efforts even though we did so in jest. This is just how we operate and you can actually be punished for genuinely congratulating someone on a job well done. You have to work pretty hard to not get punished actually as this is a big part of what we do at all of our runs.

A big congratulations to Scooby for making it to 100 runs. Here's to 200!
