This week I noticed a lot of festivities in Malaysia for their Independence Day, so I wanted to share a bit of this with you all. It has been a few years since I've seen a fireworks display, so this really made me feel nostalgic for that. Another underappreciated post captured some incredible smiles and emotions, and that one is not to be overlooked, do check it out.
Last but not least is a street market in Ta Khmav, Cambodia, full of activity and things for sale. Of course the food is always what interests me, and one of our ASEAN Hivers shared a nice array of snacks available at this temporary bazaar. Malaysia celebrated its 65th Independence Day (Merdeka Day) on 31 August 2022 (Wednesday). I thought long and hard about what to write on this post. I certainly can write about our Merdeka picnic at the park, but I feel this post warrants a more thorough reflection on this day.

Every years, there is a street exhibition that sells a lots of things in my town especially, the product from Thailand. Well, I have been waiting for this event for a long time now, I can visit this place again. You know, they haven’t opened it during Covid 19 pandemic like 2 year ago since the border is closed and we didn’t allow to import anything.

by: @rosmadirazali(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ) Hari Kemerdekaan or Hari Merdeka is the official independence day for Malaysia. 31st August 1957 is the official day Tanah Malaya (the old name for Malaysia) gained independence from the British. Before the pandemic, citizens of Malaysia would gather at these three venues which are KLCC Tower, Dataran Merdeka, and Dataran Putrajaya to watch the fireworks at night and then spectate the independence day parade in the morning.
