In my country they also eat ants too and although I have never eaten it before my mom has and I have to say it is very fascinating. My neighbor in Cambodia have raised a ant farm for eating before but it got washed away by the river water when it was raining for two day straight. My mom has planted edible root before back at my house in Cambodia like turmeric and other roots as well. I think my uncle has eaten it before when he came and visit my family in Cardamom Mountain.
There are also markets like this in my country too, there would be a lot of sellers when there is a water festival somewhere in November and me, my mom, and sister would go to my cousins house to go to the festival and get some good food. Planting your own vegetables and fruits is the best since you won't have to go to the market to buy them. My mom has some pineapple plant in Cambodia that has some fruits but it wasn't ready yet.
🐜 Insects are our favourite Jungle snack! Red ants salad!
by:(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ) Living right out in the sticks, literally across from the jungle, you naturally become increasingly immersed in the authentic, everyday Thai way of life. Around here, you don’t just observe nature—you end up putting it on your dinner plate! And today, I want to talk about one of our absolute favourite local treats: Red Ant Queen Salad, known locally as Miang Mod Daeng (เมี่ยงมดแดง).
Digging up edible arrowroot from the garden
by:(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ) It's been a while since I last saw you. I've been working on other things, so I haven't used Hive for about 5 months. I started using Hive during the Covid period. In the meantime, due to the political situation in our country, I'm still on hiatus from university. So, I've been working on various jobs in the meantime. Now I'm starting my own business. I'll tell you more about that later. Today I'm going to tell you about an edible root I dug up from my garden.
Having a great time exploring and food the nearby district’s market with my wife.
by:(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ) Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. My wife and I have another day to ourselves today. We don't need to tend to the longan trees in our orchard, even though they are bearing a lot of small fruits. We don't need to water them because it rained last night. But depending on the weather next week, if it doesn't rain, we plan to spray fertilizer on the longan trees in the orchard on any dry day.
Growing With Nature: " My Farm Visitation Experience"
by:(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ) Having a place where we can plant lots of agricultural plants and fruit trees can be very lucky. We can use it for family business as a source of income and also for family consumptions. Today, we decided to visit our farm again here in Zone 23, Barangay Poblacion Manticao, Misamis Oriental. It's been few weeks since we did not visited our farm and expected to see lots of wild grass and thick bushes at the place.
