Usos y beneficios:

La cúrcuma es una planta con propiedades medicinales, perteneciente a la misma familia del jengibre, su raíz es muy utilizada y tiene un color amarillo.

Uno de sus principales beneficios es que es usada para desinflamar, y también posee propiedades antioxidantes.

Su color y aroma hacen que sea usada en la cocina para pintar y darle sabor a alimentos como el arroz y pollo. Es el principal ingrediente del curry.

En la mostaza comercial, el color amarrillo que vemos es porque le incorporan cúrcuma.

Nota: Se recomienda ingerir menos de 3 gramos diarios de cúrcuma.

Cultivo:

El tiempo aproximado para su cultivo es de 6 a 8 meses. No necesita mucho riego, puede ser diario, pero sin inundar mucho el terreno, o un poco más fuerte cada tres días, el cual fue el que yo implemente. También dependerá del sitio donde se coloque. Se recomienda que no esté directamente bajo los rayos del sol, yo la coloque en un porrón debajo de un árbol de nísperos por lo que los rayos de sol incidieron de manera moderada y el suelo puedo mantener más fácil su humedad.

Cultivation:

The approximate time for its cultivation is 6 to 8 months. It does not need much watering, it can be daily, but without flooding the soil too much, or a little stronger every three days, which was the one I implemented. It will also depend on the place where it is placed. It is recommended that it is not directly under the sun's rays, I placed it in a vase under a loquat tree so that the sun's rays hit it in a moderate way and the soil can maintain its humidity more easily.

Luego de extraer la planta, cortamos los rizomas que vamos hacer polvo, los lavamos con agua abundante para dejarlos lo más limpios posibles, secamos y picamos en laminas, es recomendable usar guantes sino quieren ver sus manos totalmente amarillas. Luego las colocamos en una bandeja y las llevamos al horno, cuando consideremos que estén bien secas las sacamos y dejamos reposar un rato, comprobamos que estén duras para que se puedan moler. Las introducimos en un vaso pequeño para licuadoras y procedemos a prenderla y hacer el polvo.

Nota: obtuve con un color más terroso por no haberles quitado la concha, aunque no influye para nada sus propiedades, si quieren que se vea más amarillo pueden quitárselas.

Powder preparation:

After extracting the plant, we cut the rhizomes that we are going to make powder, we wash them with abundant water to leave them as clean as possible, we dry them and chop them into slices, it is advisable to use gloves if you do not want to see your hands totally yellow.Then we put them on a tray and put them in the oven, when we consider that they are well dried we take them out and let them rest for a while, we check that they are hard so that they can be ground. We introduce them in a small glass for blenders and proceed to turn it on and make the powder.

Note: I obtained a more earthy color for not having removed the shells, although it does not influence their properties, if you want it to look more yellow you can remove them.
