Haikus for the Creative Garden - and a New Prompt

Last week was a super challenge and we are SUPER impressed with those that chose haiku even though it was super hard!

Thanks to @umirais, @owasco, @boxcarblue and @gentleshaid for their entries. What stunning glimpses into garden life. Please enjoy them!

Winds whisper of gold,
Beneath the sun-baked surface,
Tubers sweet and bold.

The sparrows pray for rice plants
The rice stalks continue to grow
To feed the family and survive
@umirais

zucchini proves
that invisibility
is a thing
@owasco

a blanket of snow
gently covers the beds
rest well my garden
@boxcarblue

weather charts flush red
paddocks painted pale yellow
bird baths half empty
@riverflows

Everyone's a winner this week - too darn good! And a little reminder that you can write haiku, poetry, draw, write a story, or just wax poetic about your garden for this challenge!

Let's Move On To This Week's Creative Challenge...

The trick is to write CREATIVELY and BE creative. For example:

  • Showcase a creative response to a problem in your garden
  • Write a story of any genre that features a garden somewhere in the story
  • Write a creative non fiction post about a garden memory
  • Draw, paint, sculpt, write a poem
  • Write a comedy script
  • Write from the perspective of an animal or a tool in your garden!

Rules

  • Posts should contain only ONE image. This is a writing challenge not a photo challenge
  • Publish in the community
  • Use #creativegarden as your first tag
  • Refer back to this challenge at the END of your post
  • Reblog this if you can
  • Comment on other people's posts in the Hive Garden community.
  • Check the COUNTDOWN timer on Peakd.com - no late entries

This is a great opportunity for those in the northern hemisphere who might be shutting down their gardens for winter, and still want to write on #gardening topics.
